Babysitter vs Kids Club

Hello all. Taking our first trip to Disney with our 6 year old twins.
DH and I would like to have 1 night to ourselves for dinner and drinks.

I am debating whether we should send the kids to the kids club or hire a babysitter from the recommended agency.

Wondering if anyone has experience with either. How far in advance would I need to make reservations? Our trip is the end of May.

We used the kids club for our 6 yr old 2x now and she loves it.The hours are about 430p-12a and the cost is( I think, but it may have gone up) $11.50/hr per child. They get dinner included with that.

Just curious which one. We are staying at the GF and I know they have a kids club but I think I read some reviews saying it wasn't really that good.
I think if they had video games they could keep themselves entertained but if its just crafts and stuff they might get bored easily.

IMO 6 is the perfect age for the kids club. They could play with other kids and all experience the stuff they do there and eat dinner with other kids and have fun OR they can stay in the room with each other and a sitter and watch a movie or maybe go for a walk. I know which one my kids would have picked and which one I would pick and that would be the kids club.

Good point. I thought the babysitter could take them to the arcade, beach, campfire (if there is one) but on second thought I would feel more comfortable having them in the kids club.

Does anyone know how far in advance you have to book?

The babysitter we hired through "the good one" (can't remember their name) advised me that she couldn't even take my son on the balcony let alone leave the room.

So whomever you call--be sure to ask if that is something you wish to give permission for them to do.

I'm sure if you call 407WDisney, they'll be able to provide the number to call for the kid's club you are interested in so you can book it.

We have used the kid's club at the POLY several times. The kids love it. I would book it when you get a chance. When I called in Feb for May...the night I called they were full. Apparently, if the weather is lousy, they get very busy! I know I would go crazy:rotfl:

We used the kids club in AKL last year and I didn't pre-book it - I'd just show up with my son when he wanted to go. (We sat in the room and watched the animals with our younger son - my older son just loved it there, so we let him go for a couple hours 2 nights that we were there).

See now I thought they just stayed in the room -which I think would suck if you were a kid at Disney! But if they can take them to the campfire or arcade or swimming then it wouldn't be so bad. I would still feel better with mine at the kids club and still think it would be more fun for kids to be with other kids for a bit.

it sounds like kids club would be the best choice however if you want to stay out past midnight I would go with babysitting agency

Both the Neverland at the Poly, and the Sandcastle club at the BC

We were in orlando in March and stayed off-site, so we used Kids Nite Out babysitting service. They were great and could take our girls to the aracade and play area, but not swimming. They are not allowed to take children anywhere where they are in or around water.

I have seen kids several times at the arcades and other places (not at the pool) with a KNO babysitter. So they must be able to take them.

We are getting KNO babysitters for our trip in December but that is because we will have 5 kids ranging from 1-8 with us. It is just easier to get an in-room sitter.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in here with a Q, but I have a DS6 and a DD2.
I know my DS can go to the kids clubs, but what about my DD2? :confused3

Your 2 yr old would not be allowed at the kids club( you must be between age 4 and 12).So in room sitting with one of the companies mentioned is your best bet

We used Kid's Nite Out and loved them. We really didn't have a choice as our kids were to young to go to the Kid's Club but we don't have any regrets. They played in the room, took them to the playground, the "beach" at Coronado and went to the Food Court. Our sitter was Erin and I highly recommend her.

OK, now I'm curious too. We'll be staying at CSR and our kids will be 10 and 12 when we go. My husband and I would like dinner and drinks one night alone. So what are our options? Can we leave the kids at any kids club, or do you have to be staying at that resort? Is there one at CSR? I don't remember reading about one. We were going to go with a babysitter recommended by the resort, but if I find a better idea here, I'll go with that. Thanks. (Sorry to butt in.)

My boys have been to the Neverland Club at the Poly twice and they loved it.

The Sand Castle Club at BCV is wonderful. My DD5 begs to go every night while on vacation. She did KNO before age 4, and they took her to the play ground, and dinner. If you have the option go with the Disney Kids program, AKV, BC, or Poly.
