Anyone have any must do suggestions for a baby? Mine is going to be 1

We'll be going in a few weeks for my nieces first trip. She'll be 18 months when we go. We booked her an appointment for her first haircut at Harmony Barbershop and a few character meals through out the trip. We have never gone with kids, let alone a toddler, so we really hope she enjoys it. We are making sure to do the Disney Junior live show and the Frozen Singalong at DHS. And we plan on bringing her on anything that doesn't have a height requirement.

The meet and greet can be fun. The play area in Fantasyland would be fun too. And lots of breaks & naps!

Check out the Disney for Families board here on the DIS. Lots of information that was very helpful when we were planning DGD's first trip!

We took our daughter for the first time when she was 18 months old. We had high expectations and they were all met. I can't tell u how important a mid day nap was for our daughter. We stayed at the Poly and having the convenience of the monorail was perfect. We would be up early and go to a character breakfast (which she loved) and then go to a park. We would go back to the resort around 12-1, nap until 3-3:30 and then do dinner and go back around 6 for an hour or two. She loved dumbo, Toy Story Midway Mania, and meeting the princesses. Character meals were a hit with her also. We did Disney JR play and dine at HS, Chef Mickey's, And Tusker House at AK. We just tried to make it as easy on her and us as possible and it was the best vacation ever. Enjoy it!!

This is exactly our plan with my 18 month old niece in a few weeks. We plan on doing rope drop, and taking a midday break each day (we do that normally without kids), and then we'll head back out at night. We are staying at the Beach Club, so we are very close to Epcot and DHS. We have a character breakfast at Cape May Café and Akershus and a dinner at Garden Grill on our arrival night. We also have a dinner ADR for BOG, Hoop Dee Doo and Beaches & Cream. We made sure that Dumbo was her first FP on our first MK day. Can't wait!

Make full use of the baby care centers. The changing tables are large and padded.

The fiber optics on the ground at Epcot are pretty enticing for kids. I remember my son spending a long time and not wanting to leave those lights and patterns.

We originally were staying at the Boardwalk for the same reason of close proximity to HS and EP. We got a deal that was just $100 more in total to stay in a villa at the Poly. The extra space was awesome! The one regret I have was not getting a meal at Akreshus b/c my daughter is obsessed with the princesses.

We took our son last year for his first trip and he was 13 months old. We got his first haircut done there in MK and it was so cute. He was covered in stickers to keep him occupied and they had toys to entertain him as well. I made him an autograph book and he loved meeting the characters. He loved all the rides, at that point he didn't have any fear though. We are going in September and I think we might skip a few like haunted mansion just in case it frightens him. He enjoyed the Lion King show at AK a lot and also riding the train to Rafiki's. Plan on a lot more naps than usual, all the stimulation and activity wears them out. Have a great trip!

Take him to Main Street stores and do some shopping for him.

Also, obviously, Mickey Ears. He's far too young to potentially protest!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions I'm looking into the first haircut

My kids are 6 and 9 and we have brought them every year since they were born. I recommend having Silhouettes done as a nice memento of your baby's first trip - they are on Main Street and over near the Christmas shop in Liberty Square. I think they also do them in Disney Springs. They do an amazing job and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend breakfast at Crystal Palace to see Winnie the Pooh and his friends. My kids still love that, but the photos from when they were little are priceless. The play area while waiting for Dumbo is amazing and fun for little ones. Definitely do Pooh's Hunny Pot ride and the Carousel. I agree that the baby centers are great spots to take a break, change diapers etc. Have a great time!

I'm taking my son on October for his first trip just two days after guys first birthday. Does anyone know how much a silhouette with a frame is? I was thinking about that. We have an appointment scheduled to get his hair cut in our first day. I think his hair will look a little crazy at his birthday party but I'm not getting it cut before haha

Silhouettes are $12 I believe and you get two (they cut it out of folded paper so you get the reverse as well) and the frame was $12 as well.

As I always suggest for parents with kids in diapers, remember that ALL restrooms have changing tables. ALL of them. So Dad can help out whenever needed. My son and daughter-in-law invested in a very simple pad to put their most recent addition on when changing (their kids' ages are 18, 10 and newborn so they've been through lots of changes since the first one was born). They just slip it into their diaper bag and the baby is comfortable with it and so are they.

The Baby Care Centers are nice but they are only in one spot so it might not be the best option only for changing diapers.
