Baby's first hair cut

I've been watching videos of baby's first haircut at the harmony barber shop. I've notice that all of the kids are pretty good and will sit by themselves in the chair. I have a feeling my 14 month old won't be as cooperative and will probably scream if I try to sit him down. If needed will they allow him to sit in my lap while they cut his hair?? Thanks!!

Following We want to get my sons haircut also but at 1 year old I doubt he will cooperate.

My two youngest sons had their first haircuts at the barber shop. Both times, the CM covered their legs and arms with Mickey stickers, which kept them distracted. They also had some of those light-up spinner toys to distract them. I don't see why they wouldn't let you hold him if needed.

I sure hope so. He doesn't like strangers at all and freaks out if any go near him. His twin sister in the other hand will go to anyone. Too bad she doesn't need a hair cut.

My boys didn't really need haircuts either. It was close enough though so we did it. LOL!

If he doesn't like strangers it may not be the best to get a full on hair cut. It could end up really bad if he freaks out and ends up getting cut even with you holding him.

My daughter is 2 and hasn't had her hair cut yet so wondering if we can wait til Disney?

I don't think there is an age limit. It is just a package. Cost $19 instead of the $15 for a normal kids cut.

There is no max age. You just pick the package, the first haircut package is a few dollars more. My daughter got her first haircut there at 2 1/2.

You might be right.

He's pretty good if mommy or daddy holds him so even it its just a trim to get the hair out of his eyes and get his first hair cut ears and certificate I'll be happy.

That's a good plan. I would go into it with the idea it is more for the cute photo and memory for you and try to make it as minimal as possible.

Is there a barber shop by your house that your Husband can go get a cut at and let DS try out a chair etc. Maybe if he knows what a hair salon is and see it doesn't hurt he won't get too scared.

OMG!! My baby did awesome!!! When I first sat him down he reached for me to pick him back up but then I showed him one of those spinning toys and he was mesmerized by it and didn't even notice he was getting his hair cut for the 7 minutes it took. I'm gonna say if my kid can do it...any kid can do it!

good to know! my Lo will be doing it in a couple of weeks and im already picturing it to be a comical disaster, but maybe there is hope!

The baby's first haircut now costs $25. When I went on Nov. 12th, they were out of the certificates and promised to mail it out when they get the new shipment.
