A little off topic :)...today is my baby girl's first b-day party. I got her one of the little blue cinderella cakes for her smash cake....do you think it will stain her skin/face? Just asking cause her pictures are Wednesday...thanks!!

I would just scrape off the blue part before she starts smashing, that way you don't have to worry. My cousin's little girl had a Tigger cake and she had black frosting on her face for 2 days!!!

DS had a pooh cake and yes the RED did stain. Not sure how long but it was around for a little while.

BTW-He like the cake for about 2 seconds and then cried his heart out because it was EVERYWHERE.

You could put a thin layer of vaseline on her face before giving her the cake...it should prevent the frosting from getting to her skin. Also, if there are stains, try baby oil to remove them. Generally, food coloring and paint in general are easier to use removing oil (Crisco works great) than soap and water.

Needless to say, clothing will also stain. Strip her down before you let her at it!:rotfl:

been there done that too, and agree with the last poster above me! lol for ds's first dh wanted a camo theme cake. with the wilton cake colors...so he used green, brown and black. ds was purple at the end of his cake!!! lol and the poops for everyone, adults included were blue for days! hahaha, shes onyl one once, enjoy it while shes young and get tons of pics...its called mommys revenge when she gets married and you can show the pics off at her wedding! lol
