Nana - 63 - loves everything

DAY 3 - SATURDAY 5TH MAY

We all woke up a little later this morning seeing as though Madelane had been poorly so it was 9.30am when we got up. Nana went for breakfast whilst I sorted Madelane out who seemed a little brighter. We were out on the road for 10.30am and when we got to the car parks it was soooo busy that we parked in block F !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ran on ahead (???) to get in the 11am queue for the tickets for the 2.30pm performance of the Lion King. I ran into discoveryland and passed the Buzz ride, stopped and decided to go and get fast pass tickets for this ride whilst I was there. I got tickets for 12.15 slot and then got totally disorientated and couldn’t find where the people were giving out tickets - I used a bit of broken French to ask a CM and then found the queue and picked up 5 tickets for the 2.30pm English lion king show.

As I put them in my bag I realised that I had dropped my fast pass tickets for BUZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I ran back to Buzz to put my tickets in again and got what I thought was new fast passes but then looked and saw that, of course I couldn’t get another set till my time slot had passed!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind.

By this time the park was heaving with people and 1 hour or more queues for most rides were putting us off going on anything so decided to head over to adventure land for a walk around and then frontier land. I remembered that there was the Tarzan show at 12.05 so we made our way over to the theatre and joined the queue and thoroughly enjoyed the show, sat right in the middle so had a great view. We took Madelane on the Indian village playground for 10 mins then made our way back over to discoveryland to have our lunch and keep an eye of the queue for the lion king. We sat outside the theatre and had our sandwiches along with some fries bought from inside which Madelane loved.

We got front row seats for the lion king on the left hand side of the stage and got great interaction from the cast. To be honest, Madelane was fascinated with Simba who was on our left behind us and she kept laughing at him, thinking he was looking directly at her. The show was great - fab voices and the music as always was great too.

We walked over to the Indiana Jones ride where OH purchased a cap with his hero on it. He really wanted the authentic Indy cowboy hat but the leather ones at 90E were a bit out of our price range. Another walk around the Swiss family Robinson tree house occupied us for another half an hour and we decided to brave the crowds and head back for fantasyland for a cuppa - flask made of course.

A very funny walk around Alice’s maze and a ride on the Pinocchio ride which Madelane thought was a bit scary. On our way out to the Disney village OH remembered that he had been told to try and call at city hall to see if his specs had been handed in so he went in with my Dad………………………..THEY HAD BEEN HANDED IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   I was so amazed that I went in and thanked the lady behind the counter. I never imagined that someone would have handed them in after two days - OH was very pleased so that brightened the rest of the evening up and then we did some shopping in Disney village. We had already decided to go to Mc Donald’s for our tea today. Me and Madelane bought some sweets for her classmates and two special Minnie mouse hair clips for her two special friends and we bought a small plush Mickey so that her Minnie didn’t get lonely. MC Donald’s was very busy so everyone else went upstairs to get a table and me and OH queued for food, 1 - big mac meal, 1 mc oriental meal, 2 happy meals, 1 ham salad, 6 nuggets came to approx 30Euros and was most enjoyable.

Tonight it was straight back to the ranch to buy some more milk and to have a look round the souvenir shop where we picked up some 15th anniversary gifts and another play for Madelane on the playground and feeding the sheep, then off to bed in our cosy cabin.

Felt like today was a lot calmer for us as we weren’t rushing around grabbing autographs and photos and we were glad that we saw the 2 shows that we didn’t see last year. Tomorrow we must see the Motuer Action Show as promised the OH that we would get to see that this time around.

THEY HAD BEEN HANDED IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's brilliant! pixiedust: worked its magic! Nice to know there are honest, helpful people around :thumbsup2
Wow, Sat seems so busy after the last 2 days, but a lovely relaxed day in the middle of a trip is always lovely esp. after the previous night!
You still fitted plenty in though :)

Yes saturday was manic!!! compared to the two previous days. The car parks were full to bursting with huge coaches from all over the world. It was so nice to have a couple of relaxed days after our first two.

Great news getting the glasses back! :)
Good you got to see the shows too - we loved the lion king but didn't get to Tarzan - what was that like? Looking forward to reading more....

We really enjoyed the tarzan show, full of acrobatics and great music from the show. Tarzan was very realistic in his actions and the monkey people were fab too. The stage was massive with built-in trampolines in the floor so they could bounce around the floor. They also got the children up to bang on the homemade instruments at the front of the stage which was fun. It lasted about half an hour and was really worht seeing for a break from the rides etc and the crowds. Lots of trapeze action too from tarzan and jane.

Saturdays are a bit of a shock to the system when you been during the week aren't they ?

We loved Tarzan too (actually we preferred ot to the Lion King and you don't have the hassle with the tickets and language of performance).

i loved all the shows that we saw as we didnt see any last year as were only there for 2 days. im so pleased that we went for a bit longer and that we spent out midweek days doing the fantasyland stuff for madelane.

it helped the last 2 day be relaxing by watching the shows.

I'm so glad your OH got his glasses back ~ nice to know there are some decent people left in the world! :goodvibes

I agree, the shows are a great way to take a break from the crowds.

Glad to hear your OH got his glasses back:goodvibes

Its been ages since I have been on a Saturday so can't remember how crowded it gets, although Easter was manic.
