Does anyone have a cake pop maker they love? I want to get one for DD for Christmas but am not sure if I should get the Babycakes or another brand?

Thanks!

I have a babycakes cupcake maker and we love it! I have looked at other brands and they dont look nearly as nice. I got ours for my daughter last christmas and it still looks new and we use it all the time. I am going to buy her the cake pop maker this christmas and I would not even consider any other brand!

We have the babycakes cake pop maker and love it too! We've used it a lot. In fact, I am getting my DD the Whoopie Pie maker for Christmas too!

How old is your DD?
Just a warning, I have both BCakes cake pops and mini muffin makers. As much as I love them I hate that the equipment becomes really hot during usage. And I mean the handle to open and close the machine.
The direction says to use an oven mitt to open it.

But other than that I really love them.
Oh and I always put a swipe of oil (on a paper towel) before putting my batter in to cook. It makes cleaning A LOT easier. But this needs to be done by an adult after the 1st round of baking as the machine would be really hot by then.
I wouldn't use those oil spray can because it turns into a yucky gummy mess that's almost impossible to clean.

Thanks for the replies so far. I read a ton of reviews and did see that people complained about the handle getting very hot. My daughter is almost 11 so I am not worried, gives me an excuse to get her a cute oven mitt to go with the present. :)

I was planning on running to BB&B to see if they had any there this afternoon, but I ended up at TJ Maxx and found the Cake Pop decorating book by Bakerella that I had looked at online last night. They were the same price as Amazon, but then I found one on the clearance rack that had a little mark on the cover for $2 less. I figured my kids are going to make a mess of it anyway so I saved $2! :thumbsup2

I bought one a few weeks ago at Canadian Tire. They were on sale and I used a scratch card and saved another 10% (I think that made it 50% off regular price).

I use the spray oil each time I use the cake pop maker. I have even made muffins in it.

There are some recipes and tips on the babycakes website.

I purchased some plastic forks (two prong) that were in with the toothpicks at my grocery store. I can reuse them which saves me $. I also purchased a block of the flower aranging foam and covered it in alluminum foil to stick the cake pops in to dry after coating in chocolate.

My son just got the mini donut maker and has used it twice. I would definately recommend Babycakes brand.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas. She would love glazed donuts--do you have recipes? Wondering if I should get the cake pop one as well. Thought they would be too similar.

The cake pop maker I bought came with recipes. On the box however it looked like Gingerbread was one of the included recipes-it's not.

I did find recipes on the website, but no Gingerbread one.

I've made cake pops and muffin pops so far. I do have some donut recipes that I will try eventually.

Sorry OT but do the donuts taste like real donuts?

Do they give you recipes or do you have to buy mixes?

Thanks!
