Baby wearing

I'm planning on using my ergo baby in the parks. (Baby faces me). I was wondering if anyone knows if I can keep the baby in her carrier on the rides. In Wdw I was able to wear my son on most rides but I'm not sure if Disneyland is different.

Slow dark rides usually yes. I’ve done it on all of Fantasyland (except maybe Dumbo), It’s a Small World, Pirates, HM, etc
It is hard on Monsters, Little Mermaid because their bars keep tightening and it is very uncomfortable.

I did the same thing when DS4 was a baby. Almost all rides I was able to wear him facing me. The CMs will tell you if you have to take her out and turn her around. The rides that I remember very clearly were Astro Orbiter and Golden Zephyr. Astro Orbiter he had to be out of the Ergo forward facing and feet covered. I know the feet thing may be obvious to some, but he was 7 months and it was 100 degrees outside. I improvised (my middle son really wanted to ride it ) with a burp rag and worked fine. Since Dumbo is very similar ride, I would imagine the rules would probably be the same. On Golden Zephyr, babies have to be in their own seat, buckled in the inside position. My 7 month old loved having the wind in his face and I just held him back against the seat. Much younger than that, he couldn't have rode.

On some rides, they will only do it if the baby can face out. I can't remember which. But, on most of the dark rides you'll be fine.

So you mean baby has to have socks on? If that's the case it's good to know bc all my kids have always wanted to be barefoot when it's warm and I never would have thought of that!

Yes, they made me cover his feet. I didn't even bring socks for him because I knew it was going to be hot. So I just had him sit and I held a burp cloth around his feet. I just kept that cloth in the bag for the rest of the trip for that reason. It wasn't just one CM either, I was told every time we rode to cover his feet.

Yess to the socks. they almost didn't let us ride its a small world when my 4 month old was barefoot. they let us cover them with a receiving blanket after a bit of a "fight"

Wow thank you for the heads up. I will pack socks. I never would have thought of that!

Wow I'm glad they let you ride! That's a surprising rule... so now I am adding baby socks to the park bag list! Thank you!

We used a regular Ergo (not 360) in Spring 2017 for an 11 month old. It worked out great. Like others have said, we were asked to take him out on Astro Orbiter but I'm not sure I'd do it with a baby who wasn't a confident sitter.

He rode Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Small World, Snow White, Peter Pan (I think), Little Mermaid, Pooh all in the Ergo. I cannot remember if we took him out of Ergo on Mr. Toad. I do remember that he wasn't allowed to ride anything over in CarsLand, so we did RiderSwap for the Luigi ride and the Mater ride.

my second was a baby (5-6 months?) when we went for the first time - same thing, it was like 100 degrees outside and my kids don't walk until 18 months anyway so I don't bother with stuff they're just going to rip off. I asked why and he said "because of the altitude change, they might get cold." hahahahaha. I mean, whatever, if it's the rule I'll do it, but to tell me because of the altitude change on astro orbitor was HILARIOUS. (no, he was not joking.) I really am curious why.

Assuming they have similar rules as where I worked, wearing something on the feet will protect them better from rough edges or metal lips they could get toes stuck in. I know it seems weird, but once you see a baby toe dislocated because it got stuck in a ride element, it all makes sense. I'm not sure why they'd give you a lame excuse like that though. Maybe the CMs are told these stories so that guests aren't freaked out and start thinking things are unsafe.

could it possibly just be a issue with heat and metal seats? maybe they don't want bare feet in case the seat gets hot? or maybe even just a hygiene issue? No bare feet allowed at any age?

As noted, it sometimes comes down to the CM, so be prepared for variations. I’ve consistently heard you can’t babywear on Roger Rabbit (which is kind of intense anyway).
