Baby-Wearing & Rides

When DD6 was an infant she had to sit on her bottom on the seat of the teacups. I held her there the whole time and she loved it but it felt a little ridiculous!

I heard that you can take an infant on any rides that don't have height restrictions, is that true?

I had my 14m DS in a Moby wrap and was allowed to have him in it (forward facing) on TSMM. We didn't try RR or AO, but went on pretty much anything without a height requirement carrying him that way. I often did take him out of the carrier on rides if he was awake and I didn't need my hands free. It was great when he fell asleep - I could wrap him on to me with the moby and still go on rides while he slept snuggled on me. We did his morning nap that way, and then I went back to the hotel with him for his afternoon nap. He was in a great mood the whole trip, and it was so much easier wearing him in the moby in lines instead of trying to hold him!

I still think the trip I took with my 7 month old dd was the easiest trip we've taken by far. I carried her everywhere in the baby bjorn and rode everything I could with her in the carrier. The only time I felt bad was when I had to pull her out for roger rabbit and put her on the seat. It had been a long time since I had ridden it myself and it was much more jerky than I remembered. It seems extremely dangerous to put the babies on the seats versus in the carrier. I immediately regretted putting her on the seat and not just skipping it once it got going. I was holding on to her quite well, but one jerk and she hit her face on the bar. I felt so awful! She didn't have a serious injury, she didn't even cry surprisingly, I just felt bad. I recommend anyone with a little skip this one.

^^ yes ^^

I had a 2 month old on the seat! They made me wake her up and said she had to be out of the carrier, which I was okay with. But when I asked the issue, they said whiplash. Not that I couldn't hold her! It wasn't until we were in the car that they told me she had to be sitting. It was so jerky. I felt terrible that I didn't just say forget it and get back out. I didn't want to hold up the ride, but I should have!

I think the baby being in a carrier, especially the ones that face in, would do better preventing whiplash! Skip this ride until the baby can sit well on the seat.

I think I've ridden RR once in all my trips to DL, could care less about it, but good info to know just in case DD3 wants to ride it, she can go with just one of us.

Last December my husband, bless his heart, wore our 11 month old the entire time in a boba facing my husband. The only thing without a height restriction that he couldn't wear him on was Roger Rabbit. That said, we didn't ride Astro Orbiter. TSMM said nothing to us and we rode it 3 times with different CMs each time.
