i'll be checking in as well. i'm only working until noon (but will check in from there also). then hoping to get to the dr's at some point tomorrow.
i really can not wait to hear the good news.
i had so much company that night and was so bloody tired i just wanted everyone to go home and leave me & dh alone with our new little bubba! and as much as i know that everyone was just excited for us and wanted to check him out, it really was overwhelming. they meant well, but enough is enough. after the last one left and the 3 of us were alone, dh and i just sat on the bed staring at him. like OMG he's ours. after 18 years of being a couple and now all of a sudden we were a family. god i love that day. we had a baby. and he was ours. **snif, snif, tears, tears of joy**
and now it's been almost 6 1/2 years later and i have loved him then and now and every day in between. does that even sound possible. i'd lay in the road and die for him. i just want him to be safe and loved every day of his life.
ok i am so mushy. i'm sorry. this is about SIOLB not my bubba. but thought i'd share to pass the time.
anyone else want to tell about your delivery day???

DS12, DH cried!! He was soooo happy he had a son. My MIL ended up being there too, not in the room but at the hospital. We forgot our camera so she went and got the dog and brought him to her house. Then brought us the camera. She was thrilled to death! That was a crazy day let me tell you.

DS7 was scary cause he was stuck, big head. I cussed out the nurse and almost got off the table to kill her with my bare hands. In hind sight that was funny! I called her some not so nice names and everything, I made my sailor husband blush! LOL

DS6 was scary cause we lost the heartbeat. And it was not my DR, I asked him to induce me because he was heading out of town. Yeah, the stupid plane took off and I went into labor. But I was the only one in the hospital so it was nice to have all the undivided attention from the nurse.

DD was super scary, I almost died after. so no more babies for me.

I had the same nurse (no the one I cussed at) for the last 3 kids so it was wonderful! And I knew her from DS12's school. She helped me a lot through DD's delivery.

ds 12 =dh cries, the 1st baby, all excited!
ds7=scarry, big head, tell the nurse off!!!!made dh blush!!!
ds6=again scarry. not funny. all the nurses to yourself!
dd=way not funny. no more. that's it. super scary.

I can remember just about every detail of all of them. Of course I didn't have drugs except for DS12, I had an epidural but it didn't work and I got the shakes so bad I thought I was going to fly out of my skin.

DD's was by far the toughest but worth every second!

that's how i feel. worth every second. i puked all day every day from day one to the day he was born. we had a scheduled c section and we were sitting there waiting for the dr to come in and i told dh "i gotta puke" and he was like- are ya kiddin' me? ya gonna have a baby in like 5 minutes ya can't wait? aaaaaahhhh no!!!
but still worth every second! would not change it for the world.

I'm here..but DH is taking over the computer and phone.. so someone must call me.. I'm gonna try to get DH to order our text messaging online first thing in the AM... I've also got the numbers for SIOH and her DH by the phone as well as Buffy's so my kids MUST answer the phone if it rings and DH must.. I know SIOH's DH has my cell number...


Why in the world did DH decide to work from home???

Here is my baby updates..

DD14: I did it by myself w/ my mom there.. I cussed her and the nurse out because they were having a gossip session over top of my pain.. Hello? Labor here.. undivided attention to me.. the new mommy..and your discussing the days of MY high school life (yep, my nurse graduated 2 years before me... )
DD never left my side..and my brother would NOT allow anyone in to see me!

DS12: We had 1 hour to get to the hospital.. delivered w/in the hour..change of shift... at a teaching hospital so the room was FULL of staff.. and my regular DR. was on the elevator so the DR. leaving had to rush in and take the delivery at which my DR complained to DS that he was in too big of a hurry.. and even complained more when he realized DS was 4 weeks early.. the rushed him to NICU because his breathing was labored.. 4 hours there and he was in the room w/ me after that...

DS7: came 3 weeks early.. DD was than 7 just learning to read and I'd have to stop her mid-sentence while we timed the contraction and I could breathe.. I was in hard labor w/in minutes...and had to call DH home...and the little booger turned while I was on the phone w/ a friend and we had to have him c-section because he was breech... had him w/in 30 mins of hitting the delivery floor! LOL He never left my side either..but I did get 3 days in the hospital of which I took w/o question!

No stories here yet! But I can share my birth story ... Mom went into labor in the afternoon on Christmas Eve ... I was born at 4:47pm on the day after Christmas ... yes my mom was in labor for almost 48 hours! They don't let you do that anymore

Thought I'd chime in here! I'm loving the stories!!

We are as ready as I think I can be tonight. I've marked everything off the list, except for the stuff I need to do first thing in the morning before we go. We have to be there at 8:00 a.m., have the catheter fight with the nurse, and then we should be good to go! It's scheduled for 10:00, so we'll hope for that!

Nancy, DH has your cell number programmed into his Blackberry, so he will call you! He's also got the laptop packed and the camera (with the cord for the laptop), so he can post pictures! Look out, Labor and Delivery, here comes the tech-geek family!!!

Holly, I sent you a card today, but THANK YOU so much for the gift!! It is adorable! DH informed me that any time he had the chance to dress and blanket the baby, the baby would be using the Red Sox blanket!

Ok, I think I'm going to head off to bed. I'm so tired, but somehow, I doubt I'll be getting much sleep tonight! I'll talk to y'all tomorrow!!

My mother loves to tell me about the problems I caused!! I was supposed to be due on August 12th. . .I came on September 14th. It's pretty funny now, because I'm always the one saying, "Let's go, let's go, so we're on time!!" For the last month that Mom carried me, the doctor told her (brace yourself) to drink Jack Daniels mixed with 7UP every night to "encourage" me to come on out. Yep, and you've always wondered what was wrong with me. . .

Yep, I love it.. remember every moment.. we have a tradition here.. regardless of the time.. I always kiss my babies at the time they were born..

DD: 10:51am.. (makes it hard during school, but I usually send a note for her to find now)
DS: 7:07am (usually when the bus arrives so I need to be secretive)
DS: 11:14pm easy.. he's asleep!

But I won't let them officially turn their age til that time.. so poor DS7 waits all day! LOL

I also forgot to tell you where DH was:
DD: trying to mend things w/ It (long story)
DS: right by my side *but gave his EX's b-day for mine.. that is something he never lives down... nor do I let him forget...and I'm so glad they verified everything with me before they entered it into the computer!
DS: right there w/ me holding my hand and taking picture... oh wait.. it gets better.. snapping pictures of everything.. the kids first moment w/ their brother... the room, the baby, me... us... wait.. wait.. ready?? HE FORGOT FILM IN THE FRICKIN' CAMERA!!!!

oh i'm so glad you got it brooke. i'll keep him up to date with red sox stuff no problem! we are all just so excited for you guys!
