Baby Twins, Am I Crazy?

Hi Everyone!
This is my First Post.
I am the mother of 11 month old twin boys. They are just wonderful. I have a new au pair from Ireland, who has never been to DW (yay, an excuse!!) and I just moved to Miami which means I'm a Florida Resident (yah, another excuse!!) I would love to go in the next month with the twins. Am I crazy to think that the two of us would enjoy ourselves with the twins? Would we be allowed to go on many rides with the babies in our laps?

Have any of you done this? What does "baby swap" mean? What would be better for me to purchase an AP or tickets as a Florida Resident?

Sorry for all of the questions from the newbie, but I really appreciate your advice.

Go for it!! Our youngest child is 12 months old (she'll be 15 months when we visit WDW in June) and we plan on having a great time (I *love* that banana too!!). I'm hoping (and believing!) that once the trip is planned properly with a good itinerary (even a loose one) we will be fine. Of course I haven't even been there yet!! But I've done a ton of research and, by all accounts, there are many, many babies and toddlers at WDW with lots of sweet fun attractions to entertain them Are they interested in Winnie the Pooh? He and his gang 'attend' the character meals at Crystal Palace. We're gonna take our little girl there. I can't wait to see her face when she meets Pooh (the love of her life!!!) in person There are, of course, many other character meals and many attractions. Sounds like you're not new to WDW so you'd know more than me! I've read the 'Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World' and it is a wealth of information with plenty of advice for parents and pull-out touring plans at the back. This board is invaluable also!! I have learnt so much. We shall see in June if I've been paying enough attention

My husband and I went to Disney with our twin boys when they were 12 months (and our daughter who was 4). It is very doable. There are plenty of rides the boys will be able to go on with you (Dumbo, Magic Carpets, teacups, Small World, carousel, Peter Pan, the train....just to name a few).

We went with low expectations and to our surprise we had an absolutely wonderful time and the boys were so good.

We're going back to the WDW in 2 weeks. The twins are now 2 and dd is 6.

We took our first dd at 13 months old and it was wonderful! She loved the sites, the parades, the people, the rides. She was much more fun then than she is at 4 since now she is scared of everything!

We took our twins(boy/girl) when they were 3 1/2 months old and our next trip is in June when they will be 11 months old. In addition, we have a 7 yo boy & 2 yo girl. You will have a great time and there are plenty of rides that you will enjoy.

My sister and I took baby boys when they were 8 months. I would recommend taking snugglies, in case the kids get tired of being in the stroller. If you do a baby swap, one person will have to wait in the regular or fast pass line, and the other will get a fast pass-like ticket to use when the first rider is finished. You could also use single rider lines. Those usually go very fast.

The answer to your second question is buy the resident pass. If you go before the second week of June, you can buy the seasonal pass. If you can squeeze in two trips within the next year, you have more than paid for it.
We bought resident passes a week after moving here. We bought the ones without blackout dates and have used them over 20 times, plus have a week in June planned.

It is definitely doable and that age is not too young. We took our twins to WDW when they were 7 mos. old, then 13 mos. old, then 18 mos. old. We took our comfy double stroller from home so the twins could nap and feel secure in their own stroller. We also took baby bjorn front carriers for standing in lines for rides. Yes, you can take your babies on most, if not all, rides that don't have a height restriction. We also enjoyed taking our babies to AK and we'd point out the animals to them. They seemed to get a big kick out of that! Another suggestion is to utilize the baby care centers in the parks. They are very nice, air-conditioned, have several changing tables, feeding areas, etc.

Keep in mind if you stay at a resort that offers monorail service to parks, you can just roll your stroller right on and off the monorail. If you stay at a resort with only bus service, you will need to unload your stroller and fold it up each time you get on a bus.

Hi Again-
Thank you so much to everyone who has responded. I thought I was being a little crazy by this idea, but as someone else said looks like "I'm in good company." I can't tell you how excited I am. I even convinced Eeyore-like husband to join us for two days.

PLEASE....any other advice for going with babies....please share!
