Baby Swap

I didn't mean the second one gets off the ride, I meant as soon as they get back to the swap area. There are no lines anywhere that allow you to stand on the loading platform. I thought that was a given & didn't have to explain about walking back to the area. My suggestion was as opposed to just using FP and having to wait on an FP line. Do they not have waiting areas for the swap? Disney use to & Universal I know still does. As far as entering a line without meeting the height, if you tell them you are doing baby swap, some give a pass there & others allow you to walk thru with the rider & exit just before it as in the case with Space Mt. I know they let you out just behind that bubble area where the CM's sit & watch, just beyond where the turnstiles are. The one with the children leave and the rider then goes left or right.

No, there are no "swap waiting areas". You posts inaccurately describe how the current Rider Switch works and that's why the OP is getting confused.

Do you plan on doing the real swap, if so you will need to stay together until you reach the swap area. Then each of you take turns waiting in that area without having to enter the line again.

I was going to say this too, but then I thought that by doing it this way, they will each need to wait on a line for each ride. Even with FP, there are lines to wait on. It goes much faster if the other parent can jump on as soon as the 1st one gets off.

Each parent must go through a line (either FP or standby) and they will not allow you to "walk through" with the baby to wait to do a swap. They give you a Rider Switch pass before the first parent enters the line and the other parent and baby are free to do whatever they want while waiting-- stand near the exit, do another attraction, get a snack. When the 2nd parent wants to use the Rider Switch pass, s/he must go through the FP line.

On Fastpass attractions with height requirements (most but not all height restricted attractions also have Fastpass), the child will NOT be allowed to enter the line, period. This is why the Rider Switch pass exists.

Yes, it would be faster, but it requires having a waiting area, CM to manage it, etc. But it is similar to how some chicken exit swap operate for when the child DOES meet the requirements (and the CMs are cooperative). But Disney considers using Fastpass fast enough.

If anyone else has any other questions on how Rider Switch works, see the link in my signature.

Written about this alot (and lived through it).

1)Rider swap (aka baby swap) is available only on rides where there is a height restriction (all of those listed by the OP are included).

2) The entire family walks up to the CM (usually manning the FP line) and someone asks for a rider swap pass. (I'm not sure this is available on barnstormer - not sure it has fastpass). One adult rides the other stays with the short ones. The other adult rides (with up to 2 other individuals - so you can make friends quickly by offering people if you don't have people already)with the RS pass when the first returns (or anytime during the day - pass is good all day).

3) Most of the OP rides listed are popular ones so advice is..get one FP for each of two rides (at the same return times ..eg SPl Mtn and BTMRR or TOT and RnRC.) When return time comes up...get RS pass, use FP for first adult to ride then RS pass for second adult, do the same for the second ride. With this you should be able to get thru both rides in one hr (if FP wait time is eg 15 min)...then move on to other rides that have FP and RS options.

4) Another option for TT and RnRC is single rider lanes since OP is just two adults. Sometimes this lane is as quick as FP line and you get to save using your FP options for a different ride.

5) With little kids you will want to use FP for some of the non rider switch rides like Peter Pan or Buzz that are brutal to wait on with the little ones.(if they aren't paying they just wait with you)...

Search my name...I've done some extensive analysis on the time saved using FP/RS pass option vs FP only vs standby only...It may be a drag for some to have to go thru the wait game with small kids while an adult/older kids ride but the FP/RS combo actually saves you aboat load of time (and if you have older kids they end up riding multiple times with little wait)

I think I might have the right idea for the baby swap now. Just one other thing though, I can't figure out what RnRC means.

Actually I just thought of something else. If we use a FastPass and a Baby Swap and the return time for the FastPass won't work for us is it ok if we use it later in the day?

Yes. This is true of Fastpasses in general.

I'll add my standard disclaimer about combining Fastpass and Rider Switch: there are some CMs that will require all eligible riders to have a Fastpass for the first group to use it, and they will trade the Fastpass for the rider staying behind for the Rider Switch pass. You essentially still get a 3-for-1 Fastpass swap - although this isn't an advantage if there is only two riders in the group. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen on occasion.

this is the way i did it and we rode everything so much and with ease!!! example..go to splash mountain and fastpass 2 of your tickets and then go right over to big thunder mountain and fastpass your other 2 tickets. now you have 2 fastpasses working for you at the same time. When your splash fp time comes up...go to the gate and ask for a rider swap ticket. now you go on once with the fp and then spin right back in and do it again with the rider swap. When you are done at spash mountain head over to big thunder and do the exact same thing. You will ride everything twice with very little wait!
