We will have our 2 year old twins with us as well as our 6 year old. My 6 year old loves SM and BTMR. If we have fastpass for myself, daughter and husband can we do baby swap when it is our time to ride. Will my daughter be able to ride twice (once with dad and once with me?).

OK, the dirty secret about baby swap is that an unscrupulous person (not that i have ever done it) can use the babyswap and never have to get a fastpass... just walk up, request the pass, point to your baby and SO, get the pass and walk away... then at your leisure (preferably when there is a different CM in the FP line) get in line with two or your children/guests, ride and repeat as needed... works perfectly, not that we have done it... Simply put you can request the swap pass and use it even if you have no intention of swapping...

/not suggesting you do it just educating you about it's subtleties

The Baby swap ticket allows three riders on each!

Okay, I'm confused. Used Fastpass lots of times...but are you saying the Fastpass attractions have a separate Baby Swap ticket you have to request? More information, please! This will be our first trip with a baby.

If you tell the CM at the front of the fastpass line what you are doing, "Baby Swap", he/she will give you a ticket.
The rest of your party enters the ride through the fast pass line.
Once your party comes out of the ride you and two others enter via the fastpass entrance using the special ticket the CM gave you.

Hmmmm, so is this designed so infants won't have to wait in long lines with wet diapers/hungry tummies/loud screaming? I had never thought of that before but it makes sense that the stand-by guests would not enjoy standing next to such a family waiting to do baby swap. :rotfl2: However, it seems like families with babies should still be responsible for securing their own passes! I certainly wouldn't EXPECT to not even have to wait for the Fastpass line! But I'll take it!

Thanks for the info!

Correction- The rest of the family is supposed to go through the stand-by line, while you wait outside withthe kids, then you and two others go through the fastpass line with the ride-swapping ticket!

Not if you have a valid fastpass for the first set of riders. Example, DH and older DD have a fastpass valid for RnRC at 10:10, at 10:20 we can all go to the entrance to the FP line and tell the CM we need to child swap. The non-riding child/baby must be present but can stay in the stroller. The CM gives the non riding parent a child swap pass. This a paper pass similar to a FastPass but with no time restriciton. DH and older DD ride RnRC while mom and non-riding child do another attraction, play or whatver. Any time that same day the parent who didn't get to ride the first time can return with up to 3 people and enter via the fast pass line. This way the baby dosen't have to wait the line and both parents get to ride without double waits.

You can use childswap in conjunction with either FP or the Standby Line. I would not count on getting a childswap pass without a non-riding baby/child or without entering either the fp or cs line. In my experience the CM's were pretty strict about handing out the child swap pass.

Baby swap is for rides that have a height restriction. That way parents with a tiny child (like myself) can each ride while the other parent holds the baby, but they don't have to wait in line twice. For example, on RnRC, my husband can wait in line (or get a fastpass), ride RnRC, then when he gets off, I can ride it without waiting in line. It depends on the attraction how they do it, whether you go in a back entrance or through the fastpass line, but either way you save the time of waiting in the regular line again.

You could accomplish the same thing using a fastpass for each parent, but of course that won't really work if you have other kids, just for single kid families. That's the really nice thing about it though, that you can just get one fastpass per ride, instead of one per parent. (Again, only really applies to single kid families.) So you can get 1 fastpass for Thunder Mountain, 1 fastpass for Splash (both at the same time and then a babyswap pass for each. That way both can ride each ride, but you can get the fastpasses at the same time, no need to wait till the time printed on the bottom of the ticket.

I have to admit though, we've sorta done what brunoflipper mentioned. We've gotten a baby swap pass for a ride before, but after my husband rode we had a fastpass or ps or something so there wasn't time for me to ride, so we'd save the baby swap pass for later (no time on them like a fastpass). Some of those time I wouldn't feel like riding (I'm really not a thrill seeker, but sorta force myself to do it to overcome the fear) so my husband would ride again instead of me. We never did it with that intention, but sometimes it worked out that way, and it was much easier than waiting in line again or getting another fastpass.

we've never had the cms question us... we always enter the FP entrance with the babyswap pass... we've never used the babyswap pass and waited in the stand-by line, we only use it when we have already got a fastpass for a ride or just used it by itself as i described... the other more advanced trick is to get fastpasses for part of your party that wants to ride a ride (say for a party of six+baby, three for BTMRR and the other three for SM) then when your FP time starts for each ride, walk up and request the babyswap as you enter to use your FP... thus allowing you (when used with babyswap) to FPs for two different rides for all the members of your party...

Just to clarify, I haven't been questioned using the Child Swap pass via the FP line either.

What I was wondering was how you pick up a child swap pass without either having a valid fastpass or waiting standby first. In my experience we were asked for the FP before getting the childswap pass in the FP lane or gotten them from the CM at boarding via the standby line.

The re-ride was never an issue but the CM's in Dec and Feb were pretty picky about giving them out. The non-rider had to be present and we had to have a valid fp for everyone riding the first time. Since did have FP's and a baby (or two!) not meeting the height restriction we had no issues and it was a great feature.

The subject title of this post is "Baby Swap w/Fast Pass".

My post assumed that everyone in the OP party had Fast Pass tickets for the ride for the Baby Swap people to be able to use it.

I *THINK*, because I can't remember what we did, that rides without FastPass you need to hang out by the exit to be let in so you can bypass the regular line.
Since there is no FP line to make use of.

We always got our baby swap passes without getting FPs first. In fact, the 3 of us rarely got the baby swap pass together. Usually my husband would get in the FP or standby line while I went to change the baby's diaper or nurse her. Then when I got back I would get the baby swap pass and then wait for my husband to get out of the ride. Occasionally we'd all go together, but that was very rare, maybe twice ever on 4 trips with the baby (they were in May, June, August, and December). It just seemed more efficient to do it the way we did, saved a bit of time. Not once did anyone ever ask us to show a FP or get it at the end of the standby line. I'd just walk up to the line with the baby and ask for the pass. If that CM didn't have any at the moment, they'd direct me to one who did, either at the entrance to the ride itself (not the entrance to the line) or at the FP machines.

Simple answer- Yes!!!

We did this with every fast pass we secured on both our last trip to WDW and DL. We would get fastpasses for myself, DH and DS who is tall enough to ride; when the time came to ride, we would tell the CM we were doing the baby swap and we would get that pass too. DH and DS would ride say Tower of Terror while I waited with younger DS. When they came out, I would get in the FP line with my FP and baby swap pass and DS would get to go again with me. He thought it was GREAT to go on the cool rides twice!

I've been doing baby-swap for 8 years and I've never heard of being able to take 3 people BACK on the ride with the non-rider that stayed with the little one. I always thought it was the non-rider could take ONE person back on with them, so they weren't forced to ride alone. I know the two exceptions we were aware of were Test Track, where you could take 2 people back (to make up the 3 seats), and last year on Mission Space, the babyswap pass said I could take 2 additional people back on as well.

This always worked great for us, because we would take the older child back on with us so she got to ride with each parent.

And, we've found many times that they would only give us the babyswap pass at the same time that DH was getting into either the FP or stand-by line.

You don't need both a FP and baby swap pass for you and your son to ride the 2nd time. You'd just need a FP for your husband and son to ride the 1st time, then you and DS use the baby swap pass the 2nd time (2 people can use the one pass-actually most have said up to 3). Or if your son and husband ride in standby, then you don't need a FP at all cause you would use the baby swap pass for yourself and son.

What if there's no more Fast Passes available? Do they still let you do a Baby Swap?

Yes because you don't need a FP to do baby swap. If they already ran out of FP for the day, then one person would wait in the standby line and the other person would ride using the baby swap pass.
