Baby swap question

I was wondering how baby swap works when you have more than two adults. DH and I are traveling with our children (ds 4, dd 2) and his brother, SIL, and nephew (1.5). Can we go as couples on the adult rides and get baby swap passes for the other two adults that are watching all the kids? When you have the pass, how do you go past the rest of the line? Do you go through the fast past line? Or do you wait as a family to get to the beginning of the line and then just have the family step aside until the other adults get back?

You go through the FastPass line with the baby swap card. A card is good for two people, so you can use it however works for your group.

You can only get 2 child switch passes if you approach the CM at the entrance que as 2 groups. Each waiting adult needs to be present with the child who is not riding. The switch pass entitles the holder to ride with one other person, so technically you probably need only 1 switch pass if just 2 adults want to ride. However, if BIL or dh wants to go for a second ride with the ladies, get 2 switch passes. (Clear as mud? ;) )

Different rides have different processes for child swap. Some use the exit que (i.e., Space Mountain), and others use the Fastpass line.

HTH!

Thanks for the quick reply! Does that mean then that baby swaping is only available on fast pass rides? For instance, we want to go on the Matterhorn, which has no FP. Do we get to do baby swap on that? If so, how do we get past everyone? Do we just have the kids wait in line?

No, in this case, you would use the exit que. BTW, it is clearly stated on the switch pass where you need to go to use the pass (FP line or exit que)

Okay, so I posted again after reading DangerMouse's response. I guess the safest thing to do is just wait in line until we reach a CM and then ask them what to do?

There is always a CM a the entrance to any line. This is where you ask for the switch pass. You will not have to enter the line when obtaining a switch pass.

Ok - to further clarify ..... do you go to the CM at the entrance to EACH ride & ask for a Baby Swap Pass or do you go the entrance to the PARK? And then at each ride yuo ask the attending CM where to go?

I'm not sure we'll need it, I'm considering taking DD back out AFTER we get DS to go to sleep to get the rides he was too short for. DH can sleep & stay w/ DS.

You get the swap pass at the entrance to each ride...you might still want to try for them though Wed and Thurs as the park closes at 8pm. You can also use them with fastpass (saving even more time, but I am hoping the park won't be that crowded). To do this, get your fastpass tickets (2)....at your fastpass return time (or after) ask the CM at the ride entrance for a BABY SWAP PASS. The 2 of you riding the ride then proceed to fast pass line, go on ride, and you have a switch pass when you are done.
