Baby Swap Question

Despite having been to Disney close to 30 times, this will be my first trip with a child under the age of 18 months. We're leaving in a week and my DS is 3 and DD 4 months.
Regarding the baby swap...
let's say my dh and son go on a ride and i sit out with my dd. can i then use the baby swap and ride the ride with my son and have dh get off and sit with baby.
OR...would I have to ride alone and would they make my son get off?
Any input would be great!

You can ride with your son. The baby swap, however, is not exactly a swap at the ride loading platform. It is more like a fastpass that is good for up to 3 people.

Example: You go up and get a swap pass at the fast pass entrance. Your husband and son go on the ride in the stand-by line. When they finish, you give infant to husband and then you and son can get in the fastpass line.
