baby swap in dlp anybody used this

I wanted to ask if anyone has experience of using the the baby swap at dlp?

Does it operate the same as wdw and how many people are allowed to ride with the person who has minded the baby

Kid Swap was different than in the States. You don't need a ticket from the castmember at the entrance. The adult and child riding just enters the queue and enjoys the ride. As you board, inform the castmember loading the ride that you want to switch. Meanwhile, the other adult and child should wait at the exit of the ride. When the original riders exit, the castmember will allow the adult to switch and the original child rider to ride again. It's so much better this way than in the US parks. Not sure how many riders this applies to...

I tried to do this on Crushes' Coaster last year. I think there may have been a problem with the language barrier, because whe I alsked the cast member, he looked at me and said he did not understand. I tried to explain it, and then he tried to call another cast member over to help. I told him not to worry about it, and just got on the ride. What do you call it in French? knowing that may help.

We will be trying to do alot of babyswaps on our trip this week. I can let you know how it owrks out this time!

We used the babyswap at DLP when I went about ten years ago. If I remember rightly (I was only ten, so bear with me!) we just asked the cast member about it, then my Dad took my brother to the end of the ride (BTM, where they were sat in a nice shady spot!). I then rode the ride with my Mum, and then at the end of the ride we swapped the parents over and I got to ride again with my Dad.

It was a really good service!

I always have the best of intentions to do a trip report....but somehow time always escapes me! I will try to make an extra effort to do one this time. If you don't see a trippee from me, send me a PM and I will get back to you about the baby swap. We leave for DLP Wednesday night and return home late Saturday night.

We found it worked fine for all the rides except for space mountain where the cast member had no idea what we meant. After waiting about 15 mins a new cast member came on duty and let us straight on the ride. I think it all depends on who you get!

A good suggestion from another poster to learn what it is in French, this might help charm even the most reluctant cast member into letting you on the ride

Someone please correct me (I'm not entirely sure about the first bit) but even if its not right it should help. I've found the only thing French (and Belgian) people have a problem with is if I ask for "Un verre du lait" - even when its available on the menu. Is my accent that bad? They have no trouble with anything else I ask for - like the bill

They have really tightened up the baby swap we found in Jan. At BTM for example you used to be able to walk right to the loading area with your buggy and just tell the CM there. This time there was a CM very close to the exit point and you had to join a queue where they walked you back in when it was your turn to go. Crushs coaster we had no problem with - we walked to the exit and then left down a CM tunnel which brought us out right by the loading point at what I presume was a chicken gate.

Hmmm, doesn't the last part translate to "my son/daughter does not like it"? I would need to say "my son/daughter is too young for it" (parce que mon enfant le fait trop jeune pour lui) - at least that is how it translated in Babelfish! That would be more appropriate for my situation. What does the first part translate to? Thanks!

its supposed to be "can we take turns on this attraction" but it might not be correct. its my gut translation I didn't use a dictionary The reason I said "doesn't like it" was personal I'm afraid - DS(8) doesn't do loops but want to see the lead-up to RnR.

I don't remember how we managed to do it, but at Crush's Coaster we did the baby switch on our october trip. Mi wife went into the atraction with our eldest son, while I waited at the exit with our little one. We just asked for the baby switch to the cast member at the entry. I suppose it could be easy for me, as I speak fluent French...

When they came out, I went in through the exit with my son, who got the chance to ride again with me. He was lucky. He rode Crush's Coaster two times in a row.

Sorry, I don't remember what I said to the cast member, but I do remember that I asked for the baby switch to the very first cast member I found on Crush's Coaster. I asked for instructions, and I was told to go to the exit with the baby and wait there for my wife and son.

But anyway, you need to speak to the cast members on the ride to find out how it works on each ride, or ask for more information at the City Hall. So be prepared to ask:

Please, do this attraction offers the baby switch?
S'il vous plaît, on peut faire le baby switch à cette attraction?

We used the baby switch several times last week. We had no problem just asking for it in English. Just tell the CM when you enter the ride that you want to do the baby switch. They will tell you to have the other person/people wait at the exit (there is a CM at the exit and the person who is waiting for a baby swap just needs to tell that CM). Some may give you a little certificate/ticket for the person who is waiting to indicate they are part of a baby swap. We were even able to use Baby Swap with a Fastpass (DS and I had fastpasses and walked on to BTM - avoiding a 45 minute wait), then DH met us at the exit and walked in through the exit with DS and went right on. It worked out great for DS who is 5...he rode first with me and then a second time with DH - both times with no waiting!! He said he loves Fastpass and Babyswap!

I expect that any attraction with a height requirement has to participate in the baby swap...But then again, its Disney...I'm sure they would do a baby swap for you on just about any ride. It never hurts to ask.
