would you rather be included in the fun of planning your own baby shower or have it be a surprise?
this is for a first baby. and a teen. i'm thinking we'll do a co-ed shower.
:confused3

MIne was a surprise... even though i kinda knew what day it was ...cause it was close to the due date.

i was kinda fraking out and did not want to go and sit n front of everyone an open presents.... my poor DH had to convince me to go..

so maybe it would have been better to be in on the planning...:lmao:

All the ones I have been to were planned with the help of the mom. I thought that would make sense since sometimes pregnant ladies are sensitive to some things (either food or games).

I've been to co-wed ones and they were a lto of fun :)

Mine were surprises.

I think a surprise is fun.

You mention the mom is a teen. I'd recommend trying to gear the shower to be fun for the guests and to get the mom stuff she will most need.

I like the game where the guests are blindfolded and have to guess the flavor of the babyfood. And prizes (like Bath and Body works samplers or something) for games are always great!

She can help plan but you cannot suggest a shower or host it herself. I hates surprises, so I'll be asking my SIL what she wants for food and such and a list of any friends she wants to invite to this shower (thinking her family will host one where they live 2 hrs away and won't want to travel).
