Baby Shower question

I have a friend throwing a baby shower for me this weekend.. what should I get her as a "thank you"?? Do I bring it with me to the shower or give it to her after the shower or at a later date?? HELP!!

I would give it to her after the shower. Or, if you would have an opportunity to take her out to lunch or something in the couple of days after the shower, that would be nice, too.

Of course, I have no idea what you could give her as a thank you - maybe some flowers?

I threw a baby shower for my sister in law and and she gave me a matching necklace and earrings (colorful and funky - nothing real fancy) which was nice and was NOT EXPECTED. She gave it to me when the shower ended. I threw it at my house and she was the last to leave. Again, it was not expected, but certainly thoughtful. When a friend of mine had a shower for me, I sent her a large bouquet of flowers after the shower for her to enjoy.

Other ideas could be personalized stationary or a gift certificate for a manicure or just go out to lunch together and pick up the tab.

Thank you so much for the ideas, she does enjoy getting her nails done and I could use the break mabye I'll pick her up one day next week and we will do that, my treat!

I had 3 different people give my shower - and they had told me no thank you gifts. So I ignored them and got each a gift bag with a small photo album, an umbrella (get it - shower?), and a small baby powder scent candle. The gifts were inexpensive and very much appreciated. The shower givers were family though so that makes it a bit different. You could always get her a nice umbrella. But I love the idea of a manicure or pedicure. Im always glad to get those kind of gifts.

I have never heard of giving a thank you gift for someone throwing a shower....first of all they are a surprise around here so you never know who is giving you one, where or when so there would be no preparing to bring a gift with you to the shower for someone....I have never gotten any for any showers I have given nor have I given any for a shower I was thrown.

I hosted a baby shower for a good friend last year. Her thank you to me was a heartfelt note. That meant more to me than any gift.
