Baby Shower Help Needed!!!!

Order: Snacks/Beverages to be available at all times, Games, Meal (if serving one), Gifts, Dessert.

As far as prizes go, small gift cards are perfect... $5 Starbucks, movie theater ticket voucher (or a pair), $5 Subway, etc. Also a pair of pretty coffee mugs, neutral nail polish pair/trio, notecard set, shower gel or lotion (Bath & Body Works), candle (Yankee or Bath & Body Works), etc. EOS lip balm is very popular as well and basically anyone could use it...they sell a pack at Costco.

Thanks for all the suggestions... Keep them coming!

This is what I think we will do as of now.

We are getting a children's book for all the guests to sign instead of a guest book.

Games... Just two (I hate shower games :sad2:) one is the game where you get points for having different things in your purse, items are listed and assigned points. Kinda like Let's make a Deal. I thought this might be a good ice breaker with everyone digging in their purses. The other one is a list of sentences that you complete, they make a good keepsake for the mom to be. I hope I explained them well enough for you to know what I'm talking about. ;)

Food... Mini cupcakes, petit fours, cookies, sausage balls, cheese and crackers, spinach dip and crackers, vegetables and dill dip, fruit and maybe little ham biscuits.

Then open presents. Give her a little photo album and fill with pictures from the shower.

May get little baby bottles and fill with blue M&Ms for favors.I think I can get them at Party City.

Table decorations... Flowers and diaper cake. Wreath on door in her nursery colors for her to take home.

Does this sound ok? I like the lotion etc for prizes. Please critique and add any suggestions. I'm not very confident when planning parties, I always stress about it too much lol.

Thanks again for all your help.... I need all I can get.:)

I am attending a baby shower this wekeend, and the invitation said to bring a children's book INSTEAD of a greeting card. It said to sign the book inside. I thought that was a neat idea! I found a book at Kohls for $5. That's what I would've spent on a greeting card! Now this baby will have a whole library of books before she is even born.

I've gone back over the posts... I like the pin game idea where you take them if someone says the buzz word. You can play that while eating too. The favor suggestions are great too. Everyone has good ideas!!!!

In theory this is a great idea-unless the mom gets several of the same book, and if they are all signed, you can't return them. I do like to give books, but will just write a separate note, and include the gift receipt!

Wow that is one step even beyond addressing your own envelope. As far as new moms having enough to do without having to address envelopes- showers are usually before the baby is born, so you typically have time and even if the baby was born they sleep plenty- have the husband help- seriously, its just an excuse to be lazy!

Some babies do show up earlier than planned, some don't sleep as much as you would think and some dads can't be there to help.
