Any ideas? Or links to GOOD printables. Not a fan of the dirty diaper game or the drink out of a baby bottle, so we aren't doing those. TIA :)

For my shower, everyone was given a clothes pin to hang on her shirt. If you or anyone else said "baby", you had to give your clothes pin to the person who called you on it. :) Talk about hard trying not to say baby during the shower. At the end of the game (30 min or whatever time limit you put on it), whoever has the most clothes pins gets a prize. You could also do a word scramble for baby items i.e crib could look like icrb Some of them were pretty hard. HTH :goodvibes

We bought some little tiny babies and froze them in ice cubes. I put an icecube in either a small cup (like the ones you buy for mouthwash) or a small snack size ziploc bag and the first person to 'birth' their babies wins a prize.

We also did the how many words can you make out of the baby's name game, where you just wrote them down a piece of paper. I set the timer and the person with the most when the timer went off won.

Another one we tried was filling in the blank, and we had multiple nursery rhymes on the page we handed out. Set the timer and again...the person with the most filled out correctly won the prize.

You could also fill brown bags with various items that the baby will use and have each guest try to figure out what it was without opening the bag, each bag is labeled with a number and they pass it around and write what they think is in the bags on the line on their paper. You could staple the bags shut so there would be no peeking :)

The diaper one is kind of fun when you put it in the bag game for the mom to play....we put different items in brown sacks and blindfolded the mom, she reached in to each bag and had to figure out what the item was (all items a new mom should have). The last bag of course is a diaper filled with peanut butter or melted candy bar LOL We also saw the one where you put different melted candy bar in diapers and then everyone guesses what candy bar the baby ate....LOL

Oh and of course the simple ones like filling a basket with diapers and having the guest guess how many are in the basket, or filling a jar with other baby related items like diaper pins...etc and having them guess.

There are a ton of baby shower games online....that's where I've been able to find all of mine.

Thanks for the ideas!!!

I need help with this one if anyone has time, looking for the answers, don't have time to think, and don't want to pay for them LOL. Each line is suppose to a clue to a nursery rhyme

I found the game on etsy, but didn't want to pay for the "package" and typed the questions myself

My friend played a cute game that everyone go tinto at her shower -- name that tune, but with songs that all had the word baby in the song title. Fun for women spanning 2-3 generations. I'm sure if you googled it you could find a playlist.

something they did for me at my shower that i liked was taking scrapbook paper and having my friends write "words of wisdom" or just good baby advice, they signed them and since i love my scrapbooks they were perfect!!

I like doing a matching game with celebrities and their babies...ie Max=Christina Aguilera, etc.

I also enjoy tv/movie/book kid names...Name the kids from 7th Heaven, the Bradys, etc.

Then, there's the send mommy out of the room (quietly) and ask questions about her...How many lbs has she gained? Are there buttons on her shirt? Is she wearing her wedding ring? Are her nails polished? etc etc etc I think it's fun!

I was just at a bridal shower, and every guest needed to write something on an apron that had something to do with weddings. The bride was asked to show the apron off, and the game was - we were supposed to write down as many phrases/words that we could remember.

The scrapbook page could be sent around the room for this same type of game. (Obviously put it ins a page holder thingy first!

We had to try not to cross our legs or ankles. Do you know how hard that is? The person who catches you gets your clothespin. The winner is the one with the most clothespins on her.

I have been to Baby Showers that played the game where you take the letters from the parents names and come up with as many other names using the letters.

We played one at my shower that still gets talked about. I(being the pregnant one) carried around a tray with various baby items(a diaper pin, baby bottle, rattle, etc.) @ 20 items & then I left the room with the tray. My mom then asked everyone to write down what I was wearing. I had put on my husbands wedding ring, taken off my shoes, put a pony tail holder around my wrist, just small differences from normal day. It was so funny standing in the other room and listening to everyone realize they had been tricked.LOL

We did this for my sister-in-laws first child. And after losing my mother it was really hard facing having children without her. One day my DSIL was over and handed me a little envelope. It had the words of wisdom my mother had written for her at the shower. It was such a special thing that she kept and knew would mean so much to me.

We also played the baby clothes pin game and everyone loved it.

Here's one I haven't seen mentioned (played it at a baby shower once). I won't remember what the town names were, now, so you'd have to spend some time looking those up (a good old-fashioned US road atlas would work).

Pick out about 10 different towns (in different states/parts of the country) with names that relate to baby things. For each town, print out a map of the area on a regular sheet of paper; the map should include your "baby-theme-named" town (but not blatantly obvious), and enough surrounding area to give a hint (other town names, mountains, rivers, etc) of where the town is (in what state).

Everyone gets a set of the 10 (or however many) maps, and has to find the "baby-themed" town name on the map AND figure out what state it is in, based on what else is shown on the map. (eg, if the Mississippi River appears on the map, you know you're not looking at California.)

How about Baby Price is Right. Buy baby items and people have to guess how much they cost.

1. Give the first line a popular nursery rhyme and have the guests fill in the blanks.

2. Put a bunch of baby items on a tray. Pass it around for people to examine. Have the mom to be leave the room and then pass out a paper that has questions about her on it. Like what kind of earrings she is wearing, what color was her shirt, did she have a necklace on, etc. Everyone is thinking they have to memorize what was on that tray so they usually can't remember what mom was wearing.

3. Take labels off baby food jars and have people guess what the food is.

Hope these help you out a little bit! Good luck!

I saved one from a friend's shower where you had to identify the kids show from the first line of the theme song...

1. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...
2. I'm just a kid who's four...
3. Clifford needed emily...
4. Sunny Day, sweepin' the clouds away...
5. Every day, when you're walkin down the street...
6. Emmy wished on a dragon scale...
7. Gotta get up, gotta get goin'...
8. While walking in the woods one day...

Highlight for answers:
1. Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
2. Caillou
3. Clifford, the Big Red Dog
4. Sesame Street
5. Arthur
6. Dragon Tales
7. The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
8. Zoboomafoo

At the same shower, we had to name every item we could remember in the "great green room" (from Goodnight Moon) and at another there was a list of scrambled baby-related words. - Whoever could unscramble the most in a certain amount of time won.

I also love the scrapbook page idea!! And the guess-how-many-items in the jar is great too!

A few others...

- Match baby animals with their mamas (kangaroo/joey, duck/duckling, etc)
google for this
- Use fabric markers and make decorated onesies for the babies- buy plain onesies in different sizes and slip a piece of cardstock or cardboard inside. Have the guests decorate the shirts. We did this once and it's become a staple at family baby showers!
- What's in your purse? Make up a list of common and random items that you'd find in a purse. Whoever has the most/least items wins!
- Diaper races- get a few dolls and diapers. Have a diapering race. This is fun for co-ed showers, with the men doing the diapering!

I have a fun one that I just used at a shower last Sunday. It's a game all about candy bar/candy. You basically are given clues and have to come up with a candy bar or piece of candy that could be used.

Ex:

Baby Girls Name: Baby Ruth
Triplets: Three Musketeers

I'd be happy to send it or post it!
