Baby Shower Favor ideas?

Anyone have any ideas for cute baby shower favors that are not too difficult to make? We don't know if the baby will be a or but it is a first child so Mom has never had a baby shower before.

I think I'll have to make around 30-40 favors so I'm not looking for anything too fancy or expensive but I don't want them to look too simple, either.

Anyone have any ideas for me? I don't have any aversions to Jordan Almonds or pastel net but some new thoughts would be welcomed!

Baby is due in June so the shower will be in the next couple of months.

You could get some baby bottles from the dollar store and fill them with candy. Someone on this board also gave me the idea to make a potpourri sachet out of a baby sock. I've seen people make personalized seed packets but I think that might get pricy.

If you're a crafty person (unlike me!) there's a lot of creative things you could do.

Another idea would be to get everyone a little picture frame and then give the mom a gift cert. to a photo studio. When she gets the pictures back she can give them to each person to put in their frame.

For both of my SIL we had candles that smell like baby powder.

My cousin did this. She took an ultrsound pic and had photo copies made. It isn't that expense to make the wallet sizes at the Kodak picture thing. Then she wrote a note on the back. It was a note from the baby, saying hi and thank you for the nice gift, and to come and visit when it was born...but not too soon, b/c mommy needed rest. This was tied to a lolly pop. It was really personal and cute. I wanted to do this for my shower, but I ran out of time.

The last 2 baby showers I've helped plan, we bought candles and wrapped them in tuelle with the following poem attached with a ribbon:

Here is a candle for you to light,
once the stork has made his flight.
With the flicker of its flame,
please say a prayer in baby's name.

For my daughter's, I was asked to help with the favors. We made little napkin diapers in the theme of party, which was Care Bear, and filled them with home made chocolates, molded in asst baby items...rattles, bottles, teddies, etc. They were really cute, not too mention edible.

We also bought a onsie for baby (in shower theme) and had a table sit up so everyone could sign it. Guests were very receptable to the idea of this keep sake.

You can do a lot of cute things with melted chocolates. Look for molds and the chocolates at any craftstore. It is really easy and there are tons of ideas. They turn out really nice.

My sister's baby shower is on 4/2 and we are doing Hershey's Kisses wrapped in pink tulle (it's a girl!). Since the Easter candy is out now, I am using the pastel colored kisses.

My baby shower was in December, and my guests took home small, potted pointsettas (sp?). Maybe you could do some kind of small, potted plant, like geraniums and wrap the pot in colored paper.
For my sister's shower (about 5 yrs. ago) we did pots of mums for favors.
I like the idea of having something growing to represent the mom-to-be and baby.

I've been to a million different baby shower websites this morning, and most of the favors are at least $2 each. I have 20 guests, so that's pretty pricey on top of the food, decorations, invitations, etc.
First time I've ever hosted a baby shower (no kids myself)
But I did find great "free" games on the internet!
Keep those favor ideas coming!

At my cousins shower they made tiny pacifiers using Life savers and some other candies..they were really cute........ maybe we could search for it on;ine ..if you like the idea..or hopefully someone else here will know how to do them

I threw a baby shower for a friend last year. She did not want to know whether she was having a boy or a girl so I did favors for both.

I took a Hershey's chocolate bar and used some pink girl wrapping paper to cover the bar and cut out a box so only the letters SHE showed.

I then did the same thing for the boys using blue wrapping paper and the box was cut so only the HE showed. (as a side note: I used regular chocolate bars for the girls and chocolate with nuts for the boys LOL)
