Baby Reindeer

That was dumb of them. Especially given the fact that the stalker happens to be a lawyer.

I guess if it goes to court, Laura Wray will be Netflix’s star witness. That stalking case was very well documented in the papers at that time. Apparently, Fiona has been showing up near her home again and she is petrified. Seems like Gadd really stirred up a hornet’s nest for more people than himself and Netflix.
:confused3Hard to know if it will help or hurt the case, actually. There was no criminal conviction in the Wray case. A cease-and-desist order was issued on digital communications and even Wray herself said Harvey never contacted her again by phone or e-mail. Whatever she continued to do, apparently the proximity wasn't/isn't in violation of the actual order. Wray talked all about it to Piers Morgan. Again, both Gadd and Harvey were and are, by their own self-descriptions, mentally ill. :(

The whole story just gets weirder and weirder the more I hear about it.

I watched the first two episodes then skipped to the last just to see how it ended. The ending of the TV show was quite different than what happened in real life. These are two very flawed people, as we all are. I don't like to see the darkness some people experience when I watch a TV show. It's just too much. I prefer a little escapism.

I watched a couple minutes of the stalker's Piers Morgan interview and had to turn it off. I don't think she helped herself at all. I think Netflix is going to be more careful in the future when they have a show based on real people.

I tried watching it, but stopped after 2 or 3 episodes. I just couldn’t get over how much he was encouraging her.
:scared:That particular aspect got way, way worse by the time we stopped watching (episode 6). And again, none of those details are being disputed by either party. They had an extremely toxic emotional enmeshment and if the show portrayed it correctly, both seemed to be in some degree of psychosis at various points.

I thought it was going to be a quirky, dark comedy and watched several episodes in thinking "at any moment, this will start to be really funny." I actually watched the entire series because I got to the point where I felt committed to finishing it.

I was horrified on many levels, and I felt sorry for both of them. I totally do not recommend this movie.
