Ok, seeing as this forum is full of expectant mums to be :flower: I thought we could share baby names!!

I had a look on a baby name forum for inspiration the other day and there was a rather heated "discussion" about names that are, apparently "Chav"!! I was surprised at some of the so called "chav names" ...Id even picked a few, though I live in chav city itself (Basildon) so maybe its not surprising :rotfl2: .

Apparantly, these names are the chavest of the chav...

Liberty, Jade, Alisha, Chantelle, Crystal, Courtney, Chanel, Tiffany, Demi, Britney...any double barrelled names like "Billie Jo" "Teri-Leigh" "Ellie-Mae" and anything spelt wrong like Kaytee, Jayde, Parys etc etc

Boys..Alfie, Archie, Reece, Harrison, Tyler, Rio, Kai, Jordan, Paris, Roman.

Fortunately, none of these are on my list, but I do like Maddison which is also meant to be "chavvy" (dont care I still like it!!).

My current list is...girls

Maddison, Freya, Rowen, Phoebe or Robyn.

Boys...pretty sure a boy will be William, but in case he doesnt look like a William, then back ups are Finley, Oscar, Lukas and Edward (Teddy).

Would the other pregnant ladies (or non pregnant ones!!) like to share some more ideas as nothing is decided here yet!!

Allie

14 weeks!

i arnt in the expectin way but i like

girls, sable, roxanne, cory

boys, cary, xander, dylan

my dbf hates them all lol

I like Maddison Thats a lovely name :)
For a Girl....... Teagan
For a boy ......Mckenzie

It depends how "unusual" you want to be. My DD is a Robyn which I thought was unusual but we've met a few. I work at an infant school and we've got a couple of Pheobes and a couple of Finleys. You always know you've picked a popular name when your child comes back from their first day at playgroup with an initial e.g. William A or Katie B.

I don't think you can really choose a name until you actually see your little one. My Ds didn't end up with the name we had chosen because it just didn't suit him

Maddison & William are lovely, Good luck decided exactly which one you are going to go with!

:flower:

I like a few of them CHAV names too.

We didnt know the sex for a while and we all thought I was carrying a boy,so names I picked out, was Macauley,Harrison,Cory
For girls I struggled, Ashleigh (in the end we opted for), Kaitlyn or Caitlyn, I do like Jade!

As for Billie, Martyns Brother called their wee girl Billie (not liking that at all but each to there own).

Charlie is nice, this is Chelsea's other cousin who is a girl btw (reminds me of charlie and the choc factory) :rolleyes1

Its so hard to choose, I have three children
Amelia
Rohan (pronounced Rowan and its a boy)
and Ollie

If ollie was a boy he was going to be called Freya or Esme

don't think Alfie or Roman are chav, but the rest are. Like all your boys but Finley has been done to death.

Good luck it is so hard to choose. I think the classics are always the best, they are never chavvy and they never date.

My 2 daughters are called Amber and Emily.

We decided straight away to call no1 Amber but had real problems naming no2. The names I liked didn't go with our surname - Cassie, Connie, Kyra. Eventually we opted for Emily but I didn't realise at the time it is actually the most popular name for baby girls at the moment.

When our eldest daughter was born we named her Lauren. At the time (16 years ago) it was quite unusual, after that everyone seemed to be called it. Our second daughter is called Tian (14). The premises officer at her primary school liked the name so much he called his daughter Tian too, and they are the only two Tian's we know.

both my two are in the top ten names !!

ellie (eleanor ...on a sunday or when she gets told off :rotfl: ) and matthew

maddison is a lovely name and i also like lucas

I have a:
Hayleigh (daughter)
Morgan (daughter)
Ethan (son)
Kai (son) and apparently a chav name  even though I dont know anyone else called Kai :confused3

At junior school i was always teased because i had a boys name, Alex so i have always liked girly names so if my ds had been a girl he would be Charlotte Lucy, he ended up a Ben but we didn't decide till we saw him, he could have been a Daniel (Dan) or Oliver ( Ollie)
BTW there seem to be hundreds of Alex's now!

Our names are

Matthew and Rebecca!!

I do like Maddison too!!!

I like Madison, my friends just called her baby that :)

I like for Girls - Eleanor, Jessica and Daisy

I like for Boys - Joseph, Josuha and Samuel

We shall see....... ;)

We have Alexander, Edward and Millie.

I'm surprised by some of the "chav" boys names..... I quite like Harrison and Kai. I agree that it is difficult to choose a name until you see your child. Then it will be easy :)

:wizard:

We knew from the scan that we were having a girl, which was good as we couldn't decide on boys names. I'd loved the name Regan since i was a teenager and read an historical romance which had it as the female characters name. So any daughter of mine was always gonna be called Regan. Then Paul Gasgoine gave his Son the name and it totally put me off. I've got nothing against Paul Gasgoine but it just took the shine off it for me!!! It then came down to either Megan or Bethany. When she was born the Midwife turned to me and said she looked like a Bethany so there we have it. My favourite boys names at the moment are Ethan and Finlay and favourite girls names would be Bronte and Emily.

Congrats to all you mums-to-be........... :flower:

My 2 DDs are Daisy Ellen (11) and Molly Isabel (9), Daisy is still quite unusual but there are loads of Molly's about.

If they had been boys they would've been Joe and Harry.

If I was crazy enough to have any more kids I like Poppy or Eliza for a girl,
not quite so struck on boys names but something quite traditional like
Henry, Charlie or Ely. :confused3

Jen

My DD's are called Lauren,i'm suprised that there's only a couple of other Lauren's at her school and Natasha there's quite a few with that name though.

I quite like Loughlan :) as a boys name, it can be shortened to lockie. DW things I have an Australian soap opera addiction with this one ;)

I quite like Charlotte for a girls name.

DD is called Lucy Jade, and Lucy is a very popular name. If i ever have another one, for a girl it would be Meadow and a boy Harrison. (thought i think it would take alot to get DH to agree)
