We have always rented the bjcmd for our trips, but DS is starting to be too big for them but still needs a stroller some of the time we are there.

I am thinking of upgrading to the baby jogger city elite double to better accommodate his longer legs as it has a better forced footrest. One of the draw backs is that it's wider...

Anyone brought one to Disney? What doorways did you have trouble with????

We could get a GT if we had of, but the footrest is the same as the regular mini and I know his feet would hang over and he would keep kicking the tires and more annoyingly the tire lock at the most I opportune times!!

I own a city elite double. I haven't brought it to Disney yet but I bring it all around town and although doorways are tight, I fit through any standard door.

We own a city elite double and just bought the city mini double for Disney. There is now way I'd take my Elite to WDW, too HEAVY! Now, if I was certain that my husband would always be with me to fold it and lug it...that would be different.

Can you rent a City Mini GT Double?

We had a regular Elite and its huge and heavy. I can't imagine how big a double would be! We exchanged for a Mini GT and are so much happier.

We could rent a GT but it has the same fabric foot rest as the BJCMD..so I don't think it would work for us because DS would keep kicking the wheel locks...if the elite doesn't fit, we will rent a GT, but its not our first choice...I understand why it works for many others though - and we have really loved the bjcmd for the last 3 trips...but DS is just getting too big for it...

We are staying at BLT and will have a mini-van rental so I don't ever invision having to take it on a bus..

I am really not worried about the weight (althought the idea of pushing 130lbs of kid and stroller isn't ideal) - its still better than having to carry my DS...I am just wondering about doorways...

I watched the baby gizmo review and she mentioned that the brake being on the side made it too wide for a standard doorway, but I could only think that our BLT Door might be standard size and most others larger??

The brake has never caused a problem for me in any doorway. I push 110 pounds of stroller and kid often and it's fine. The elite pushes like a dream.

I own and have taken my City Elite Double on the past 2 trips. Last trip my boys were 5 and 2. It's a double stroller so it's big, but it like the other Baby Joggers that simple fold is unbeatable. I've stayed at BLT as well as other DVCs and had no problem. Yes, it's tight, but it does fit through a standard doorway. This is what sold me on it originally, in addition to the simple fold. To me, it's worth it for the kids to have the comfort, and it's so easy to push around, etc.

Hope this helps.

Yea!!!! Thank you!

We have a baby jogger city select double and we LOVE it! Check it out if you haven't already... the kids sit tandem (one behind the other) and there are many seat configurations... sometimes we leave the second seat off and it's a single... A very versatile design and is only the width of a single stroller. We brought it to Disney and I never saw another one while we were there. Many people asked about it because it was easy to maneuver through the crowd and get on and off the buses.

I have seen these and even tried them out when DD was born, the britax bready and vista as well....in the world of tandem strollers, they are very nice....but my DS has neem too tall for them since he was 3 and i cant even fathom the arguments about who has to sit where...sigh....thanks for the suggestion though!!!! I haven't seen those available from any rental companies yet either....(we are not buying a double stroller, just renting one)...

Rented the GT double in May and stayed in 1 Bdrm at BLT. Fit through every door and elevator, no problem. We did the GT because my nearly-7 year old was too tall for the BJCM. GT has several more inches of height. She is 48" tall and weighs about 45 lbs, if that helps. She was comfortable and never kicked the tires. She was able to get under her sun shade, no problem. Loved this stroller; so worth it! Rented super easily though Kingdom Strollers!

Is the elite better for bigger kids?

Yes. When #2 was born we researched double strollers extensively, and the City Elite Double had by far the most headroom and legroom for tall kids.

We took our Elite Double to Disney twice -- once when DD#1 was 2 and DD#2 was 6 months and then again when DD#1 was 3 and DD#2 was 18 months. We had no problems maneuvering it and it fits through all doorways. Also, while it is heavier than a single (obviously) it folds in one motion and completely flat like the single, so it was really easy to take on transportation.

We know only take our single when we go (kids are now 4 and 2), but if I needed the double, I wouldn't hesitate to take the Elite.

I couldn't say enough good thinks about this stroller.
