Baby Jake's MAW trip 2013

So sorry about DH's adoptive mom, and Princess Cocoa Puff  Lots of hugs & prayers :grouphug: I hope the tips are effective for Jake.

Yay for ice cream wish meeting Sun. :cheer2:

Thanks - I'm sure meeting the wish coordinator will lift everyone's spirits and Jake seemed to be better today :-)

Wow, what an amazing family you are! I can't imagine how hard it must be fostering a child and then letting them go. Jake is adorable as are your other kiddos. Cant wait to hear how meeting the wish granters go.

Thanks - we are so excited too especially as it gets closer. I am crawling for excitement at Jake figuring out that this is for him to help him feel better :-)

BTW, we got a text from Princess Cocoa Puff's family and they sent 5 pictures. They said she's adjusting well and she looked genuinely happy in the pictures :-)

Subbing in. Followed you over from CM. You have a beautiful family and I'm so so glad Jake is getting his wish. It's sounds like you all have stayed so positive under such hard circumstances.... You deserve a wonderful trip!

Thanks - we don't think our circumstances are particularly hard. I know there are lots of mamas who say that they didn't choose to have a child with disabilities and I totally understand that but we actually did choose to parent a differently abled child and were thrilled to do it! All kids have challenges, Jakes are just more obvious ;-). We wouldn't trade our hard circumstances for the whole world!

I can't wait to hear about your little guys first trip! I bet you're so excited that you can't stand it.....

You have a great attitude! What an amazing family :)

Yes he's beyond excited. I just got him off the bus from school and he's going crazy. I guess it really seems real now that he knows he's done with school for a week!

Oh I bet, I'd be unable to concentrate on anything else!

Okay, so we officially met our wish grantors today and Jake made his wish to go to Disney World to meet Mickey Mouse.

It was a lot of fun. We had a new little guy with us. He's up for adoption and we are interested in adopting him so he was visiting this weekend. He's Native American and we are not, so we're not getting our hopes up but it was a great weekend. He is in a full body cast so it was interesting but oh so fun :-)

We got to the ice cream place and Jake was super excited but didn't know what we were doing, etc. We walked in and they had Make A Wish balloons and star balloons and presents for all the kids.

Jake got an awesome Mickey Mouse Road Trip board book, a Mickey bath toy, and a Mickey t-shirt with matching beanie cap (so cute - can't WAIT to put him in it tomorrow).

Nikki got lots of girlie stuff - a journal, lip gloss, nail polish, bracelet, etc.

Mikey got a Nerf Basketball game and a coloring book/markers

Christopher got action figures and a coloring book/markers

Spike - (Little guy that was visiting) got two cars (lightning McQueen, etc.)

Princess Cocoa Pebbles - got Elmo socks, an elmo rattle, bracelet, Disney Princess Book

We filled out the paperwork and Jake was kind of grumpy and was saying no to everything so I was nervous when I asked him if he wanted his wish to go see Mickey (he doesn't talk) but he got all excited and shook his head yes.

We had to choose next month (April) or May since Jake has a surgery coming up which may not have a great outcome for him. So now, I'm sending in paperwork (birth certificates, adoption decree, foster papers for the baby, etc.). She said those will get sent off tomorrow and we'll get started :-)

Yay!!!!!

Here's a photo of Jake, his siblings (minus our two foster sweethearts) and the wish grantors (Erin and April - they were great!!!!).

Glad you had a wonderful time. :) So nice you had Spike visit you. Please post a pic of Jake in his beanie. :flower3: Hope you get dates soon. Praying for that surgery.

I will post a pic today of him in it. Thanks for the prayers!

Are you guys getting excited for your trip?

Following along! Your children are so cute! Add me to the list of those who are awed by your dedication and commitment to these children. I can't wait to hear all about Jake's trip! And I will be praying his operation goes well.

Thank you so much for the prayers! I have to go read your PTR now because I'm not sure what a family moon is :-)

We got the email yesterday that all paperwork was in. AND they have approved Princess Cocoa Pebbles to go on the trip as well! So excited - they are sending it to scheduling as soon as the doctor says Jake can fly :-)

I'm so glad Princess Cocoa Pebbles can go!! How is Jake doing without her sister? It must be so confusing for him

Just finished reading your PTR. Glad Jake is so excited to get his wish to go to Disney World. :goodvibes Can't wait to hear all about his wish. :)
