Does Disney allow baby floats in their resort pools. We will be going with our DD in September and she will turn 11 months about 3 days after our trip. DH figures our trip will be a good chance to start teaching her to get comfortable with pools and splashing in the water. I would like to get her one of those floating seats she can sit in but I don't know if they are allowed in Disney pools. Anyone know?

We tried to take our own small kickboards into the pool at Port Orleans and were asked to remove them. The lifeguards said the only things allowed in the pool were the Disney provided lifejackets.

If you haven't already and are near a community centre with lessons I would try some parent and child swim classes before your trip. They are great at giving you ideas and getting you and your babes comfortable with the water. You may even find yourself singing the songs they teach you to play in the water with your little one at the pool in Disney :-)

Last May we brought a float as you described into the pool for our 11 mo. old daughter at Art of Animation. They did not seem to have life jackets small enough for her. That was right before a kid drowned in the pool at Art of Animation so the rules may have changed.

They did allow puddle jumpers- the ones that are coast guard approved though this is no advertised anywhere on their website. This may have changed since the drowning. However this is probably too big for your child still. We were able to get our 18 month old in one but she still wasn't quite big enough to be independent in it last summer.

Which resort are you staying at? Some has zero entry pools which are great for little ones as they can wade in as far as they are comfortable. Of course you have to watch them but since they can touch the ground and even sit if they want it's a great way for them to get use to being in the water

How is sitting in an inflatable seat getting her use to/comfortable with pools and splashing in the water? I would recommend checking out local swim school to introduce her to water before your trip if you want to get her "comfortable" in a pool environment. Most pools do not allow floating seats, tubes, floats. I think they will allow arm floats but swim instructors discourage use of arm floating devices in favor of teaching survival skills. :)

i brought a noodle into the pool at several different resorts and that was fine..i know thats not a baby floatation device but they allow those

Thanks for the information. I will probably sign her up for a baby swim class this summer to get her comfortable with the water. We'll be staying at BWV and I'm not very familiar with their pool or water play area.
