Baby Centers and Bottle Feeding

Sometimes I just don't get the huge debate about stuff. Some people here have comments about everything parents do.

Should parents be able to bottle feed in the rockers? Sure!

Should Moms be able to BF in public? Of course!

I think most people agree with these things, and the people who want to stir the poo have to comment.

I do wonder if it was just that they only have the (what 5?) spots in the nursing area, and that they have to keep those open for breastfeeding mamas, per privacy policies or something similar.
I do think they should add some comfy feeding chairs in the non-curtained area for parents who are bottle feeding, or just cuddling/rocking to sleep.

In my opinion, Disney goes above and beyond with their babycare center. They are so nice! And both DL and CA have such awesome ones! I went to the one at DHS to pump privately when DS was home with grandma, and it was SO tiny, and I literally had to pump in something the size of a closet with one chair.
(Think a daddy would want to see my udders being milked by a pump? Another reason I can think as to why I'd prefer no men behind the curtain :P )

...Probably going to get slammed for this, but I would appreciate it if BF mother's would not do it in public. We don't need to see that and neither do my children. Certainly if they do find the need to do it in public, cover with a blanket and please never do it at a restaurant. Just my opinion and I do realize it's not a favorable one.
So, what do you teach your kids that breasts are for? Because their only purpose to support the nutrition needs of babies/toddlers. As for never in a restaurant, that is absurd. If you can eat in a restaurant, so can my child!

I think that this country forgetting what breasts are actually for is ludicrous!:rotfl:
...You just wanted to let everyone know not to feed babies in public because you don't like it. :headache:

We are all entitled to our own opinions, so if somewhere has a BF area, why not use it to not bother others that are bothered by it. Just because you don't agree with that opinion doesn't mean you can't be respectful of it. We all do things that aren't what we would always want to do to be considerate of others. I don't know why it can't be the same here.
Not meaning to offend anyone, honestly.
Um, I'm sorry, but breastfeeding isn't an 'opinion' at all, it is about providing the best possible food for your child. The only respect necessary is that given to the child eating.

OK. You're encouraging bottle-feeders to take up the breastfeeding chairs.

So, you'd take up one of the only places at Disneyland that you believe would be acceptable for someone to breastfeed. By posting that, you seem to be saying that everybody is entitled to use the chairs there if they want to. However, then you post that breastfeeding should only be allowed in those chairs that you were encouraging the bottle-feeders to occupy. Sounds like you don't think breastfed babies have the right to be fed.

The breast feeding debate is on-going. Women are so hard on each other. At the end of this fight, every baby is entitled to eat, which ever way their mother/parent/s have chosen for them.

Thank you to everyone who shared similar experiences with the baby center. I will go ahead and write an e-mail to Disney. It just doesn't seem right to only allow some people to use the feeding area and not others. If it is a problem, maybe they could add some rockers in the main area for those who are bottle feeding or just want to rock their baby for a bit.

To the mods, I'm sorry this thread turned into a breast feeding in public debate. That was never my intent.

I am a grandmother and I find it embarrassing to see a woman breastfeeding in public, even if she is covered up. It was never done as I was growing up. But it has become acceptable so there is nothing I can do about it. I certainly am not condemning a mother for doing it; it's just the changing times.
