Baby Bumblebee DVD's for Speech

Have you used the Baby Bumblebee speech dvd program for your toddler to supplement speech therapy?

What are you thoughts and child's reaction to the series?


My 20 month old is non-verbal with hearing issues and will be starting speech therapy through the state and this program was recommended.

Any other similar programs for non-verbal or speech delayed children you can recommend?

never heard of this....would like to know more...my ds almost 3 recieves speech but I am always looking for more.

Also, I know that my speech therapist has been hearing great things w/ Fish oil. She actually sent me something cause SpeechNutrients. I haven't ordered it yet. But I figured getting that extra Omega 3/DHA/borage oil will not hurt either....since he doesn't have any allergies!

Just a thought. Also, you may not want to do that yet....my son doesn't have any hearing issues...he just is non-verbal...not on the spectrum....his therapist seem to think he has Apraxia. Parents of children with Apraxia have seen results w/ the Ultimate complete Fish oil...but not all.

My child had the same issues -- and I ordered this DVD and didn't have a lot of luck. Also, the fish oil thing didn't work either.

What helped tremendously was the TV show "Signing Times" which is free! I would tivo them and play them back. I loved the show and I would learn from them too. Very cute songs.

DS now 6 was a preemie & primary diagnosis was language delay. The &BIGGEST help was & is ST. We also had him on Omega 3 oil (I put in his formula - yuck poor baby) & let me do it till he was about 4 until he went "no more". I tried "baby bable" a dvd by speech therapists which he enjoyed but really the ST is what worked. Don't give up, it's been a long almost 6 year battle for DS & he's mainstreamed now, gets pulled for 45 min & down to 1 ST a week from how he was in pre-k, it's a big leap. He is extremely verbal now from just making sounds & banging his head at 3. He calls those " when I couldn't talk days" Don't know if the fish oil helped but it helped me knowing I was doing everything I could to help & it can't hurt to try. Just keep on & my therapists had me build his motor mouth strength by doing exercises & having him look at my mouth as I spoke & tried simple sign language for "hungry etc" so he wouldn't get so frustrated.
