Baby bathtime question

I had this same question a couple of years ago when DS was an infant. We usually did baths after swimming, so we'd go right from the pool to the tub. Either DH or DD would sit in the tub behind the baby and help him sit up (he was 5 mos at the time and not sitting on his own) while I washed him. It worked out fine.

Ditto. My dd was in the big tub from day one. At 7 months they are more than ready for a bathtub.

Me too. We bought a baby bathtub when my daughter was born, but we only used it once. She hated it, and after that first time we always just took her into the bath with us. When she was about 5 months old we started taking showers with her as well. Once she was about 11 months old we let her start taking baths by herself (with us always in the bathroom, of course.)

My 2 cents -- it would be a waste of money to go buy something.

I used a nylon type tub for DS when he was little. It folded up so you can travel with it. It also dried quickly too. I got it at Babies at Us.

Our dd is almost 1. If we go anywhere and need to bathe here we either

a) gave her a sponge bath with a soapy wash cloth and pan of water

or

b) put her in the tub with me and had the other parent help get the baby out, while the first parent dried off, etc.

That's what I would do. Babies don't get all that dirty (except for face, arm pits, crevices) and it's generally recommended every other day for baths.

You'll be fine down there whatever you choose to do. Trust your motherly instincts and you'll be fine.

When the boys were little, I used an inflatable duck tub made by Munchkin. You can get them at Target, maybe Walmart, too. It's actually what we used at home too for a long time. They can sit, fall over, won't get hurt. I didn't like the idea of their bottoms in a hotel tub. It'll pack in a suitcase, then blow it up when you arrive, deflate to go home! :)

Actually, I'm wondering what to do now... since they're too big for it. I think I may just bring a can of scrubbing bubbles and wash it myself... Anyone have any better ideas?

Here's the link to the duck tub-- just LOVE IT! http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-White-Hot-Inflatable-Duck/dp/B000066665

LOVE the Munchkin Tub!!!!! My lil princess: thinks it's the greatest thing!

We brought our DD to WDW when she was 8.5 months old. We just laid her on the bed on a towel with a waterproof changing pad underneath and gave her a sponge bath.

we stayed in a 2 bedroom villa when we went down and just bathed dd in the sink. she was 6.5 months old at the time and it worked out perfectly.

Hi there! When we took DS to WDW I took him in the shower with me. I showered, then DH handed him to me, I rinsed him off. DH stayed in the bathroom because it took less than 2 minutes and then I handed him back. We also used the pre-soaped washcloths from Johnsons and Johnsons.

I would say just to put her in the tub like other's suggested or bath with her. I did that when Chaeli was that age and she loved it. Or even take her in the shower with you. We do that now too.

We used the inflatable duck tub by Munchkin as well (we bought ours at Target). It's so portable and our DS loved it when he was younger.:goodvibes

In the DVC villas, I made the mistake of bathing my 4 month old son in the big whirlpool tub. It was so deep I couldn't get a good grip on that slippery little sucker so it was rather unpleasant for both of us. I did, however, use the pre-soaped washclothes by huggies which were awesome. In retrospect, I would have used the other regular sized tubs or the sink in the kitchen.
