Saw this today in pond at BCV side. We were walking across the bridge toward the villas pool. The alligator swam toward us while we were stopped on the bridge looking in the water. Definitely not afraid of humans.

It's been there for awhile. Or it's cousin was previously and eventually removed and this one moved in after that.

If it reaches a certain size, I've read four feet in length, they'll relocate it. I would imagine if it causes a disruption, they'll do it sooner.

It's Florida. It would be odd if there weren't an alligator in a body of water there.

I have seen gators in WDW at:
Palm and Magnolia Golf courses.
Bay Lake while in a boat over past FWC.
Trumbo Canal between PO and DL and between OKW and DTD.
You especially have to watch out for those that went to UF. :)

Yeah they are in the waters in and around Shades of Green often as are Water Mocassins and on the golf courses there. No thank you LOL!

Why do you think they rake the beaches everyday? So guests don't freak out when they see alligator tracks. It's Florida. They're everywhere.

They were there first and Disney built on their land. WDW is basically swamp land with all of the gators, snakes, insects and other critters. Disney does a very good job of dealing with nature but humans need to stay out of the lakes and other bodies of water and stay on the provided paths when walking around.

In March 2014 at POFQ there were 2 baby alligators in a nest near building 1.

At BCV right now. This morning the gator is not there. He was more than a baby though, at least 5 feet. Saw him the last couple of days, just swimming around with the turtles, but no sight of him this morning.

It probably swims toward people because some people feed it - which is definitely NOT in the animal's best interests.

As a Floridian for a lot of years, I can just about guarantee that is correct! It amazes me that people will feed an alligator. Obviously their thought pattern doesn't go past, "let's feed that cute gator", as if it were ducklings in a pond! I've literally seen people at the lake in Celebration downtown, stand right next to the sign posted stating it is against the law to "feed or harass the alligators", and FEED a little gator there. Unbelievable. All the posters are certainly correct, we have all sorts of critters here and the golf courses are especially full of wildlife sightings as they often butt up to preservation, untouched lands. I can tell you this, gators lay so still that you can almost walk up on one, and they can move lightning fast for a strike. As said above, if you ever see a gator over 3 or 4 feet on Disney property, be sure to report it.

We see an alligator in the canal at BCV every time we are there. And yes...people feed them. I once saw kids feeding it their left over Mickey waffles from Cape May.
