Babies R Us - any ways to get discount

Does anyone know of any way to get a discount at Babies R Us - something like a percent off and dollar amount off any item?

There are specific coupons and sales right now, but I need to get a baby shower gift from a registry and none of the items I would like to get are on sale right now.

Our local babies r us takes bed bath and beyond coupons. But we have a buy buy baby store across the street and buy buy baby is part of bed bath and beyond- so it's their competitor.

Our bru takes the bbb coupons too. You could also check with friends who have little ones for coupons. We bought a lot of gear for ds from bru but once he stopped needing new car seats, etc and finished up with formula, we mostly stopped shopping there. We still get coupons all the time, but most toddler stuff is cheaper just about anywhere else, so we rarely use them.

I agree - I'm sure I can find a lot of these items for less money somewhere else. But since I am working from the registry, I don't want to get something and have someone else get the same thing because it is not marked as purchased. Thanks for the bbb info.

If you have some time before the shower, buy something small that is on sale, usually they give you a packet of coupons with 20% off 1 item coupons in it to use on a future purchace when you check out.

I don't know if this applies to smaller gifts, but I just bought a crib there for my granddaughter. When I was looking at the store, I went to the customer service desk and asked if the cribs ever go on sale? They handed me a book of coupons on different things and one was for 20% off anything. I can't remember if you had to spend a certain amount, but the item could not be on sale. I got 20% off the crib.

Thank you both. I will try to get a coupon at the store. It is for my niece, so I plan to get one of the more expensive items on the registry.
