Babies on the dining plan

We will be traveling during "free dining" in September of next year with my 2 year old son. My 1 year old nephew and his family will also be joining us, but they will be on a different reservation. They do not like to do a lot of character meals so I told them that we would take my nephew to the character meals with us and give them a little break. My question is can I do this since he will not be on our reservation. I have never traveled with children that are still considered to be "FREE" so I am not sure how it works. I know when they swipe one of our cards it will take off the meals for everyone in our room. I would greatly appreciate anyones help.

Just make sure that your ADR includes both your son and your nephew. There is no limit to how many kids under 3 can dine for free with paying adults. The ADR is not really tied to your resort reservation and there is no matching of people to rooms so it doesn't matter that you'll be bringing a baby from another room reservation.

Neither child will be on the dining plan so it won't take credits for him OR for your son. All you have to do is tell the server that the two adults are using dining credits from your card and the kids are under 3 so no credits for them. At all character meals they will eat free because they're all buffet or family style, but be aware that if you take both children to an a la carte restaurant and you want to order anything for the kids you will need to pay for it.

Kids of any age do, however, count toward ADR party size, so as mentioned above, please make sure you include both children on the ADR.

We have Chef Mickey's ressies for next week (yea) and my 14-month old grandson will be joining us. We had to include him in the reservation for number of people in the party, but they noted that he was an infant. They explained it was for fire marshall purposes in that they had to have an accurate headcount of people in the restaurant.

Can't wait for the Florida sunshine! Only ONE MORE WEEK!
