Babies on dining reservations?

How big a deal is it to not include a 4 month old baby on ADRs? I had no idea I should include her since she won't be eating anything and will not use a separate high chair, but now I'm reading that you are supposed to include infants. The problem is that our trip is the end of November, all our dining is already booked, and if I have to include the baby we will be a group of 7 which I think will be harder to accommodate than 6. So I'm leaning toward keeping the ressies as is. Any reason not to do this?

I made the same mistake when we took our then 10 week old son. I called ahead and the CM easily added the baby to ADR's. We were changing from a party of 3 to 4 so I don't think it affected the table size. The CM told me they needed a head count of all of the people in the restaurant for the fire code.

You need to count everyone. The worst that could happen is that you show up at the restaurant and are told they can only fit 6 people, not the 7 that you have. Your choice then would either be to pick who doesn't eat, or to walk away from the ADR and pay the $10 per person no show fee.

Disney counts every person no matter how small. Change every ADR you can and then decide if you are willing to risk one person being turned away from the rest.

I would try calling the dining line and asking if they can add one more on to each ADR. Our last trip I needed to add two more people to a couple of ADR's. (We have family in Orlando, and they decided to join us for a few meals right before we left to come down). Even though there were no openings on the website for larger seatings, the cast member on the phone changed our ADR's with no problem. Don't know if that was a fluke or what - but it's worth a try.

I'd call and try to add the baby to your reservation, but the chance of them turning you away at the restaurant are very, very slim.

I am not sure if they would turn you away or not but it is mostly due to fire codes. Even though the kid won't be eating food, they are still a person and still count in the number of bodies legally allowed in the building.

I hadn't thought about the fire code issue - I never ran into this issue with non-Disney restaurants with our first. Thanks for all the advice though. I'll call dining and see if things can be changed to add her.

We didn't add our baby the last time we went. When we got to the check-in, we were delayed for a couple minutes longer but it was no problem to add her. The castmember said they adjusted reservations last minute for babies "all the time."

I would not bother calling or trying to add the baby because it can mess up your reservations. Just add the baby at the podium. It happens ALL the time :thumbsup2

I would follow this advice as a last resort only. It is always best to change the ADR to the correct number if you can. That eliminates any question of what may happen, and gets rid of the stress that you may have worrying about it.

Odds are good that you would be seated with an extra, but by no means is it guaranteed. Change the ADRs if you can first.

Might as well try and change what you can so you aren't stressing about all of them. And while they may let you add the baby at the podium, you could end up waiting longer every time because they weren't planning on needing a bigger table. Why have to deal with an extra wait every time when you can at least probably change some of them?
