BA WTP or Virgin PE

Its my Grandparents Golden Wedding Anniversary next year and we have planned a big trip to celebrate. However this will also be their last ever trip to Florida and we really want to make the most of it for them.
They have always said they would love to be able to fly in Premium Economy so we are looking into our options.

I have never flown in either so i have no idea which is better, BA's world traveller plus or Virgins PE?

From reports ive been reading on the internet it sounds like Virgins is better but they are quite old.

Has anyone travelled on either recently?

For me, without a doubt Virgin PE is vastly superior, especially if you are flying on the 747 and go upstairs. We went BA WTP last year and were really disappointed with the service.

Ive done both and can honestly say that Virgin PE wipes the floor with BA WTP. But i would also agree that the Gatwick fleet is really not as good as the Heathrow one at present.

Depending on when you are planning for your parents to go, however, Virgin are rolling out a new set of A300's from Gatwick and Manchester which will have new livery etc. which we are flying on next May. this may solve the old fleet problem.

The flight will be to Orlando and they will more than likely be sititng downstairs if we fly with them - my daughter will only be 18 months and therefore cannot go upstairs.

Thanks for everyone opinions though, looks like Virgin are the way to go

BA have just launched a new WTP cabin which looks excellent, not sure when it will be rolled out to the Orlando flights.
