Hi folks - we’re planning a B2B2B in spring ‘25 on the Dream. They will be our 5th, 6th and 7th cruises with Disney. Couple of queries:
- do all three count towards our castaway club status?
- will we be eligible for any gold benefits pre or onboard?
- will I have to pay normal deposit on all three cruises as per the norm?
- bonus question! Any advice experienced cruisers have to help me make this as simple as possible?

Thank you, you lovely lot :)

Yes all 3.
The benefits will start after you had your 5th cruise. So in this case only onboard on your 6th and 7th cruise.
And yes, normal deposit.
Enjoy an almost empty ship on your 6th and 7th cruise!

Thank you! That’s really helpful - best get my credit card ready for next week then 😂😂

Just to clarify, you will still be considered Silver until you have completed your 5th cruise. So you will not have the booking window of gold for any of your cruises. You will still be considered Silver at the time of the booking window opening.

Thank you :) Yes I assumed as such - but onboard perks such as welcome gifts and merchandise discount should apply to 6 and 7?

I just wanted to make sure you didn’t get your hopes up only to be let down! Not to be like a Debbie Downer or anything!

And I would assume for the 6th and 7th cruises, you would get the Gold privileges, but to be honest, we are still lowly silvers until our next cruise in a couple weeks, so I don’t know for certain! 😅 lol. So I’d go by what European said about that! But super excited for your B2B2B! We are doing a B2B2B next Nov!

We did a B2B for cruise 5 and 6 on the dream. We received the silver gifts for both cruises. We had to go to the front desk to tell them that we were gold. They changed the gifts for us, but it was not automatic. This was 2021.

Useful to know, thank you. Will keep that in mind!

You are probably already planning on this but since it wasn't mentioned I'll throw it out there. Be sure to get the same room for all 3 cruises so that you don't need to pack up and move. The best feeling is seeing all those sad bags out in the hall on the last night, knowing you don't have to deal with that. ;)

I'm doing a B2B in Oct 2024. Do you actually have to tell anyone at Disney you're back to back before the trip or will they know automatically? or do you have to wait till you're on the ship?

You don't have to tell anyone. They automatically know. That's what happened to us. Even our dining staff knew and asked us ahead of time for the next cruise if there was anything we would like to change, like the table location or to go to main dining, etc.

This happened to us last year when we went gold to platinum too but guest services fixed it quickly.

I have done a few B2B cruises and did B2B2B (7-nt, 4-nt, & a 3-nt) on the Magic back in May. I enjoy doing them, but this time I had guaranteed insides for two and a guaranteed Oceanview for 1 leg. I had three different staterooms and do not recommend it if possible. I was all over the ship and understood that when I booked. It originally wasn't meant to be a B2B or even a B2B2B. I started with booking the last leg. Long story so I will spare you that part!

They moved all of my luggage which was great, but it would have been so much better to have the same stateroom. I was on different decks and forward and aft. Three different stateroom hosts, too. They were all great of course, but I like to get to know them and just as I was, it was time to move again.

The transition parts were simple. DCL has a great system. They had a paper that explained where to meet (one of the lounges which varied for me depending on the amount of B2B people), the time, and all of the details.

I also did a side to side when moving up in Castaway Club tiers (different ships). On the second leg, I was platinum but it was still reflected as gold. The system doesn't pick up on it that quickly. It might on the shame ship, but if not, just go to Guest Services and they will get you your lanyard and gifts.

I think everything else has been answered. Let me know if you have any more questions. Enjoy!

This is what happened to me too in 2021, except I went from gold to platinum.

This happened to someone in my family late last year too, also cruises 5 and 6. I was already Gold and the Gold gifts had limited availability on the Wish, so I don't think we ever got the additional ones, except the lanyard.

I'll also +1 the 'get the same room' recommendations. We did not and it was still a smooth process, but you don't even need to pack up at the end of the first cruise if you get the same room. Also if your 2nd room is worse, or has bad neighbors, or has a worse stateroom attendant, you'll really wish you just stayed in place.

Or you might get a better room. I have done 1 B2B and got the same room, don’t think we asked. I have an other B2B coming up GTY and will let DCL surprise me.

Totally might get a better room!

But psychologically, at least for us, knowing we had it better in the first room was a bit of a letdown. Our 2nd room had a much worse stateroom attendant, a neighbor who smoked on their verandah constantly (DCL was surprisingly inept at addressing this), and a smaller verandah. We wouldn't have thought twice about the stateroom attendant (the first one was phenomenal) or the smaller verandah if we just had the 2nd room the whole time. And if we had the 1st room the whole time we wouldn't have had any downgrade in those two categories.
