B&P's VR 11/10/2012 UK/AAP/UKDP Day 1 Arrival & Epcot 6/10

The tea sounds wonderful!
The cake...can't wait to see pics. Sounds great.
Sounds like you are going to have an awesome birthday!
Changing things up a bit, at least keeps it exciting. :)

•I'm so excited to see how your cake turns out--that sounds like a wonderful combination of things!
•Your fancy tea party sounds like so much fun! I'm trying to imagine what some of the things taste like. They sound so decadent.
•Your days at Disney sound busy, but fun! I'm excited to see what Paul will wear! I love when men dress up, they just look so spiffy!
•I haven't eaten at Chefs de France yet, so please report back.

Eeek! I still love the cake. And I really like the monorail idea. You know what else could be cute? You could get that monorail playset and set it up around the cake! Or is that too cheesy?

I still love the tea menu. Yum!!!

Is Paul going to wear one of the Mickey vests? I hope so!

Also, when you're at Chefs de France, you should get their macaroni and cheese. It is SO GOOOOOD!!!!

If you like beef, you should get the bison at CA Grill. Chris talks about it a few times a week still!!

Glad you like the cake since I have you to thank for the inspiration! After seeing yours it just kind of hit me. I am having a cake topper crisis right now, but hopefully that will figure itself out.

Thanks! I love the tea menu too. So glad the price came in right about where I wanted it. I really didn't want to serve alcohol at it, but would have if I needed to fill the minimum. I think I will add BOC soda since I know some of our guests would want it.

Paul is leaning towards no vest or tie, but we will see once we get to Carolyn Allen's. :confused3

I haven't had their mac and cheese, I may check that out this trip. Thanks for the suggestion.

I loved the pictures of the bison on the TR. I definitely will be trying that, I think. Can't wait! 5 weeks from tonight!

*I love when the inspiration just hits and it's a perfect fit. I think this cake will be awesome.
* I hope the ladies love the menu. It's so girly, which I am not typically, so they will probably be surprised.
* Thursday and Friday are busy. I am hoping that Saturday will be MK in the morning and then back to the Poly pool for the day.
* Chefs de France is one of our favorties and we haven't done it in a few trips. I told Paul to pick a restaurant and he picked it right away. I will take lots of pics!

Well, I haven't done a good update with pictures in far too long and have a couple to share, so figured I better get started. I have posted some of these in facebook already, but since I know not everyone is on there and I love that I am documenting everything here, I will post them here too.

I have finished up a couple of DIY projects, which makes me really happy since the more I get done now, the less stressed I should be later, right? :rotfl2:

The first one I finished was actually a redesign on the Savor the Flavor tags for the welcome bags. I liked the first ones, but didn't love them. I never quite got the square design just right.

As I was walking around Michael's one day, I found round tags and thought that they might be easier to work with than cutting the rectangular ones. I redid the sticky labels and while the new ones don't have all the original info on them, I think that our guests know the date of the event and that they are there for us! :rotfl:

Once I figure out exactly what is going into each one, I will do another round label and add it to the backs.

I also finished our door hangers. This was a project I really wanted to do and wasn't sure that I could finish and be satisfied with them. My first several attempts were terrible. Paul stepped in and helped out alot and they wouldn't be done without him. I did one for us and one for everyone else.

This design is so perfect for us. Donald & Daisy are our favorite Disney couple and we both love to read, so this was ideal when I saw it.

Another completed project is the Years of Significance Pins. We needed a way to give them to everyone and explain exactly what they were getting and why. The idea of a medium, but thinner jewelry box came to me one day and I was able to find them online. Wrote out the explanation and voila! After we printed out all of them, we decided to add some fun facts from each year to the back. I had these awesome Mickey head scrapbooking tags and used them to put the names on each box.

Let me know what you think! I have pin designs, groom's cake inspiration and some accessories to still post. Plus a to do list before our PS trip.

Thanks for reading along! Now, I really need to catch up on some other PJs and TRs. That is my goal for the weekend.

When I read the pin explanation.... I teared up a little. :lovestruc Aww, that is so nice. You did a great job with everything! I especially love the door hangers. You & your DH did an awesome job. I like the round better than the square also.

I am in LOVE with this pin idea!!! It is seriously terrific. I kind of wish I had done it now! (And by "kind of," I mean "really really really.") It looks great, Bethie!

I also like the round tags much better than the square ones. Good work!

As for a cake topper, do you have any Donald and Daisy figurines laying around?

Oh. My. WOW!!! :yay:

Those pins are so totally amazing, I'm just....:worship:

There is so much detail, care, thought and love in them I'm blown away. There won't be a dry in the house!!!

And your door hangars are totally adorable. I've been debating about making them for our DisneyMoon, but haven't decided yet. You might have given me the inspiration I needed!

Great stuff

Thank you!!! :worship: I am so not a crafty person, but I might be once this is all over. Did you see that Jet Blue is opening up flights for November today at noon? Good luck with yours!

Thanks, Jackie! I am glad you love them. I love the way they turned out. Might do something similar for the character pins, but smaller. You can steal the idea for your VR! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

I think the round tags look much more finished. They will look cute on the bags with goodies.

I do have a glass Donald and Daisy that was going to be the cake topper, but then we were going to put them on the cake table instead, since we thought it was safer. We were going to do a Jets Bride ears and a Pats Grooms Ears, but since I am furious at the Jets right now, just not sure I want to. We will see how I feel in a couple of weeks. :)

Thank you so much for reading along. These pins were so much fun to come up and put together. I hope our guests love the idea as much as we do.

Hopefully, putting together another update later this afternoon....Stay tuned!

I love all of your DIY projects! You have so many great ideas, and your guests are super lucky! I especially love the pin idea, I think it is so sweet and touching.

Bethie, I did see JB opened up the Nov. flights. Did you get yours?? i only bought 3 coming home. Hoping the fllights down drop. We have to wait for the triplets schedules before we buy theirs.

I love your DIYs, especially the pins! It shows that you put a lot of work and thought into each pin and I'm sure it will make your guests feel really special and loved. Great idea!

Bethie,
I am planning a VR and am blown away by your preparation, newsletter, and meticulous attention to detail. Did Shelley from Impressions do the layout for your newsletters or dd you do that with a computer program yourself?
I am eager to hear more details as you get closer to your PS and to November!
Best to you, Paulie and the fur babies,
Rebecca

Thanks, Becky! I hope everyone loves them as much as everyone here does.

We did buy them practically at noon. We were hoping to do free tickets using JB points and we did get lucky. Two tickets cost us less $150 because we love the extra space seats. That stinks that you have to wait for schedules to buy. Hope you can do it soon.

Thanks, Jilian! I really hope everyone loves them.

Rebecca,

Welcome to the Disboards!

Good luck with your VR. Will you do a PJ?

Thank you for your very kind words. It has been a labor of love. I never thought I was crafty till now. :) I have done both of the newsletters myself. I think I use Print Shop Deluxe for them.

Have a great weekend!

I'm shaking my head about the Rangers, Bethie. Last night was super frustrating!

You are getting so much done! :D

I know you posted this a while ago, but last night was super frustrating too, I am sure. Just have to hope it doesn't carry over for the rest of the series.
