I don't want to step on anyone's toes if this has already been taken on by somebody, but if a Fish Extender Group needs organising I'm more than happy to arrange it.

We organised the FE Group on our recent Dream cruise and went without a hitch!!

:) :) :)

I don't think anyone has put themselves forward to play host.

Val very kindly started this thread with a great list of cruisers and who wished to participate in the F.E, but the list of participants hasn't made it over to the other site created by Tracer.

I am happy for you to host if others are. :thumbsup2

There is a page for FE participants on the website but I haven't updated anything for a while. People had been booking the cruise and then dropping off quite a bit so the whole thing needs some updating and I've been pretty busy at work and at home. Valbob's spreadsheet would be great to use together with the website as it had a lot more information than I do on the site.

JustAnnieNotHazel - it would be wonderful to have someone that has some FE experience to organize! I think we might need an updated roll call to see who is still on the cruise and who is not. :confused3 I think there might be people that have dropped off without posting here to say so. I don't have any FE info to post on the site so if you want me to put anything over there or if you'd the password just let me know! How nice of you to offer to take that on!

Sounds like a great idea!! Thanks for stepping forward!! :thumbsup2

Hi,

Any one interested in sharing an excursion to Rome by Stefano Rome Tours? Here is the link http://www.stefanorometours.com/tours/christianrome/. We have 2 adults. So if there are 4 more people (6 total) the cost would be ~ $119/each at current exchange rate. Or for 6 more people (8 total) the cost would be ~ $98/each at current exchange rate.

Let me know.

Stan

Hey,
We are taking the NYE cruise on the Dream in a few weeks and was thinking that I would book this cruise while on board...debating whether to book cheaper room for more spending $$ or do a verandah? Those of you who have done a Med cruise before, what are your thoughts. Also, we have friends who lived in Italy and say we can sightsee ourselves much cheaper...which do you do DCL excursions or private? Interested in your thoughts!!

Thanks,
Pam

Pam,

I guess it depends on what you are comfortable with. I've done the Med before - it was the 11 day - and we enjoyed the verandah on sea days. There aren't that many sea days and quite frankly, you will be tired after exploring the many ports so how much will you actually use it?

Looks like some excursions are finally posted on the DCL website :-)

Oh thank you!!! This really helps me to see how much money I can plan on spending on these. I think we're going to do Disney excursions for Villefranche and/or La Spezia. It all depends on whether I'm lazy or not! :cool1: If I feel like doing some research then we'll do one of those ports on our own, if not, we'll do Disney excursions for both!

We are joining this cruise, both of us in our early 60's, our first to the Mediterranean. Will look over this thread to see if we can join some of your scheduled tours. Never been to Europe, excited. Used my DVC points for the cruise, I was in use or lose situation and this worked out well for us.
Cruised on Fantasy and Dream and several times on Wonder, never the Magic.

:welcome: glad you've found a good use for your points, I'm sure you'll love Europe. if you do facebook there's a link to the group on the first thread but the same information seems to be posted in both places anyway. This will be our first cruise, sailing with my mum (also in her 60's) and dd8.

Hope everyone's doing well, I'm sure the group will pick up after christmas as the paid in full date approaches. I can't seem to get into gear and start planning myself although I am really excited for this cruise :cool1:

Keep looking over the DCL Port Adventures but haven't decided on any as yet. If anyone has any shares going that don't mind an 8yo let me know as I would be interested particularly for Rome, I can't see me paying for the DCL tours there for the full day would rather pay the extra for just the 3 of us on a private tour if it came down to it!

Just got off the Dream yesterday and am totally excited for this trip now! However, the airfare is so insanely expensive. Right now its $1385 pp which is more than we paid for the cruise itself. I am so torn as to what to do. Anyone think there is any chance the airfare will go down?

Hello! We're paying cash for our cabin but my parents are sailing with us using DVC points. Hope you guys have just as much fun as we will have :) We're all so excited!

So....i've skipped most of the prior pages but who has their Europe itinerary all planned out?

We're starting in London, moving to Barcelona, then will do Paris a few days after the cruise. What's everyone else doing?!!

Any other college students sailing with us? My friends and I are worrying we're gonna be the only people our age onboard.

:welcome: to all new people!!!

Once we get past Christmas and back to normal I will start up the list for the Fish Extender Group.

All we have to do is book our flights to Barcelona and we are all set.

I'm sad to say we are canceling this cruise. We're doing the TA which we'll keep, but this seems to hectic for us.

Have a great cruise, everyone!:goodvibes
