Hi! I was wondering if anyone can me some ideas on what you did special for your child on there birthday at DL? I would like to get her a shirt made saying something about her b-day. Thanks in advance!

We have celebrated two of DS's birthdays there so far. He gets the birthday button to wear (we would be fine if he wore it the whole trip, but everyone saying Happy Birthday gets old for him so he's chosen to take it off at the end of THE day). Last year we had a character meal planned but cancelled it for some reason...same thing happened this year, we canceled it b/c we realized he'd like Mickey pancakes much more (but then he and hubby dawdled and wouldn't get onboard with my timing, and we missed breakfast time so we had pancakes the next day).

And of course this year ON the b'day (with gov't ID proof) you get a choice of special things...we chose the giftcard (Birthday Fun Card) in the amount of a one-day one-park ticket for him and he had a great time buying things. :)

Oh, and he got the "knight package" at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, mainly to replace his old sword and shield, LOL.

So that's what we have done. Mainly though, it's just being there at Disneyland Resort that is the special thing we do for his b'day. :)

Well it's not in Disneyland per-say but in Downtown Disney. Rainforest Cafe. We always love to get the Volcano (a desert that is made up of vanilla ice cream brownies and whipped cream) thats always fun! Like bumbershoot said above, get the birthday button and now you can get an "I'm Celebrateing" (or "we're" I forgot what exactly it says! :P) button for the rest of the family so everyone can feel special :P! Oh and I don't know if this is something people do alot but I know we do! If you go on the haunted mansion we start singing happy birthday to the birthday person (in the (i think its ball room scene? (the scene with the ghosts danceing, playing the organ and sitting by a huge table xD) since there is a birthday cake) not super loud that we are annoying anyone but just a little kidding around and such! Also it's the rule for the day that the birthday person gets to pick out the first and last ride we go on! Yeah, thats how we like to celebrate birthdays at Disneyland :) Our little traditions!

thanks for the reply!

bumpershoot.... I will have to get her the gift card, B-day button and the rest of us a button too. She will be turning 10.

indiesgirl4ever ....Thanks for the tip about the haunted Mansion, I will look out for the cake.

I did make reservation for dinner at Goofy's Kitchen.

I was thinking about seeing if I can make reservation at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique? I just wondering if it will be to much in one day. She loves getting her nails done...she feels like a grown up when is get this done.

How about b-day mickey ears w/ her name on it? That could be something she could wear too. I love going to Goofy's Kitchen for my birthday and even if you don't buy a special birthday package, they'll give a cute cupcake. Or at Celebration Ranch, I believe all the kids get a special bag w/ goodies (at least that's what I saw bc I really wanted one!). And getting free birthday tortillas @ Mission is always cool too!

I would do BBB, we did it for my bday last Monday. (I'm sad, a week ago today I was at DL and now I'm at work) It was a blast!!!! It didn't take more than 30-45 min and we had the photo package done as well. :) Good times!!
