B-day at WDW/AKL

We will be celebrating my DD's 8th B-day when we go to WDW to stay at AKL this October. I have read posts before about people getting a surprise in their room when they check in. How can I go about doing something like this? My DD would absolutley love it!

Please don't count on WDW doing something special. People report that it does happen but if you really want something for your DD please arrange something yourself.

Many many people are celebrating something at WDW so they can't do it for everyone. You could arrange and buy balloons, birthday cakes etc.

It can't hurt to mention it on the reservation but don't count on anything and you won't be dissapointed.

Disnaholic, you may ask that it be noted on your reservation, but I agree with Safetymom. If you really want something, please plan it yourself (that way it will happen and you won't be disappointed). I have planned many special celebrations on my WDW trips (anniversaries, birthdays, reunions, etc.). My family & guests have always had the best time with the things that were planned. I'm actually in the process of planning a special event for my upcoming trip, too (I won't leave it to chance).

One more thing to note. If you plan on doing something yourself, no balloons are permitted at the AKL. This is for the safety of the animals. I hope your daughter has a wonderful birthday!
