Azores, anyone?

Has anyone been to the Azores? We are thinking of planning a trip for 2008. My DH's dad was born there and lived there til he was about 8. DH wants to go with his dad to see places, etc. It would be the in-laws, DH & me, and 3 kids. The in laws have been a few times but just curious if there are any DIS- ers that might have helpful suggestions or don't miss stuff...THANKS

I live in the Ironbound (Newark) and have many portug. friends. I have heard they are GORGEOUS! The beaches are beautiful and the food yummy!!
