My aunt who lives in Tennessee told me about a news report she had heard the other day.
A group of people had gone to one of the schools (in the Appalachian mountains I think?
) where the students that went there were less fortunate. They went to deliver some toys and other items they had collected for the children.
There was one little girl who had chosen a baby doll as her toy, then a short while later she went up to one of the adults there and asked if she could trade her doll for a new toothbrush!
OMG that just made me feel so sad for this sweet child who felt she had to trade her new toy she just got for a toothbrush!! Just breaks your heart to think about it. I am going to share this story with my kids so they will realize just how incredibly lucky they are.
