Awkward solo rides for a "grown" man.

If I saw a guy in his 30's riding any ride at WDW alone I'd check for a wedding ring. That's a guy I'd be interested in.

Gee, sorry that person made you feel creepy. Solo trips are the best! I think people are really jealous when they hear someone is going solo. You can ride what you want, eat what you want, or just people watch if you want. No compromises. I still have fun going with friends and family, but I enjoy it more on my own. I just did an 11 day stay at Pop last month, and two days family were along and the rest was solo. It was great! Looking forward to the next one in December.

it happens. I really want to do a quick solo trip sometime, as I am pretty sure my introvert self would like it.

Side note- “Awkward Solo” is my new Star Wars name.

I am a woman who went to DL and they seemed to seat me in my own row for Pirates and IASW. I was in the back on pirates which was really cool, but on the from for IASW and that felt weird.
I think the CMs try to put solos by themselves on those rides on purpose. Two women tried to get into my row for IASW, which I didn't mind and the CM got really upset and yelled. They didn't speak English the best and I think they thought I had wanted them off and kept apologizing. I tried to explain that I could care less about others in the row but he told me he wasn't going to allow it and sent the boat off. That's probably why it felt weird, because it had attention called to it so I thought people were judging me, but then I figured, who cared if they were anyway?

They always seat only one party per row on those rides. If you happen to be a party of one, then you get the row to yourself. They would not seat two parties of two in the same row either. It's just how it's done on those rides.

No idea. But, I can tell you that a guy in his 40s doing all of those things solo doesn't get a second look. ;-)

The only place it was awkward was in my head.

This might not be true for everyone, but I think it is my experience too.

Well, there was one time. I was in line to meet the Princesses in Fantasyland. The maybe 5-6 year old girl in front of me turned around and asked: "Do you love the Princesses too?" "Why, yes, I do." "Are you here by yourself?" "Yes, I am." "Wow, I wish my grandpa was like you!"

At the time, my oldest was probably about 15, so...thanks a lot, kid!

I went to Disneyland solo in 2012, and most of it was fine. I did feel a little strange on It's a Small World and Mr. Toad going solo. For the former, I was placed in a row with other random people. For Toad, it was just so empty and the cast member gave me a weird look. I will say that it was mostly in my head I think. I'd be more confident going solo now, as time is tighter with two girls at home. Not sure when it would happen, but it would be amazing. With that said, it's not like I'm going to go ride the Carousel or Tea Cups by myself if I went. There are some that would be still odd.
