final day of my awesome vacation!! here it goes!!!

Tuesday Feb 24, 2004....

we started the day off as usual with Hard Rock hotel club level breakfast...then we headed straight to IOA (our favorite of the two parks)

once inside the park we dashed to the hulk! (gotta love it)

then we went on fearfall....matthew (my boyfriend) had said he would not go on it....but he ended up riding it and it wasnt so bad

then we proceeded to spiderman....very very cool ride

afterwards we worked our way over to the flying unicorn. i don't know why but there is something about this roller coaster that we kids love! my parents just didn't get it....they would always say "ya'll are going on the flying unicorn AGAIN??!" :teeth:

we hopped right on the dueling dragons....blue first and then red. it started raining while we were on the red

after we got off we huddled under shelter and then broke down and bought ponchos....the ironic thing is that we waited a good bit to see if the rain would slack off....but it didnt so we bought the ponchos....but as soon as we put those suckers on....the skies were dry!

we walked over to the mystic fountain (this thing is so cool!!) and watched and listened for a while

then we bumped up our reservations at mythos and enjoyed a great lunch there. dad got a spinach salad appetizer....matthew and i split a lobster and corn bisque appetizer (mom got one of her own) and everyone had hamburgers for an entree...

after lunch mom and dad wanted to go dry off a bit at the hotel, so they left us kids to enjoy the sopping wet park...we had fun though! we went straight to the "if i ran the zoo" part of seuss landing. it was fun! there were no little kids and it didn't matter if we got splashed because it was raining and we had ponchos on!! it was a blast!

we walked over to the port of entry and watched a guy do someone else's caricature. i really wanted to have one done...but was unable to find the time...:( thats ok...maybe next time

we decided to head back to the hotel to dry off also...and when we started our trek it was barely raining.....but as soon as we left the park.....the wain decided to start coming down - bad...

as soon as we got to the hotel, all we wanted to do was take showers and dry off...but when we got to the hotel at about 2....the cleaning crew was just coming to do our room....we had just enough time to take off our soaking wet tennis shoes and head over to the lounge.

we waited (and dozed off a few times) in the lounge.....and when we got back to the room....matthew and i conked out...we were exhausted...

after our nap we ran straight to IOA to get our last minute thrills before having to leave...

we rode the hulk twice (during the second ride - mom dad and devan rode spiderman) then the whole family rode popeye....with ponchos.....that was funny..

after we rode on jurassic park (again... ) but it was somewhat funny. there is a part on the ride where you turn off track and go into the velociraptor's cage....well the ride says "oh no! it seems as though one of the hadrosaurs has knocked you off course! you are heading straight into the velociraptors..." then there was a pause and i yelled "damn you hadrosaur!!" and the whole boat started laughing....it was pretty funny...:teeth: ::yes::

then we headed to dueling dragons (we decided to skip the flying unicorn this time...;) ) it was rainging pretty badly....but matthew devan and i caught the front row of both the fire and the ice dragons......it was so much fun....but i could barely keep my eyes open because of the stinging rain...

yet again...mom and dad left early to go get their showers over with.....and matthew devan and i headed to the hulk....we rode in the front row, then the third, then the fifth.......fun fun fun!!!:upsidedow :jumping2:

after our cramming of the hulk....we decided it was our turn for showers....so we went back to the hotel and took our baths...

we had dinner in the kitchen at 8:15....MAKE RESERVATIONS!!! definetly call ahead if you are staying at the hrh.....other people were waiting for a while....call ahead!!

the food was delicious and the drink glasses are SO COOL!! both matthew and i agreed that for some reason....the coke at the kitchen tastes so much better.....we don't know what it was....maybe they use glass bottled soda?? who knows...but it was good. we ordered calimari as an appetizer (devan was mortified because she thought we were eating "squidworth" spongebob's sidekick) matthew and i split the steak quesadillas and the three cheese pizza appetizers....yum yum yum!!! mom had the seafood chowder...she liked it....devan has the steak quesadillas also.....but yet again i dont remember what dad ate because i didnt even have a chance to see it...

after dinner matt and i went to the hard rock store to get some last minute souvenirs and then we went to the arcade! HRH has an arcade!! the prices of the games are pretty expensive...but if any of you want to know....to find the arcade.....go down by "the kitchen" but pass it up and keep walking until you see a foosball table....right around the corner is the arcade!!

while in the arcade....matthew and i played air hockey, area 51, and pinball. i also played dance dance revolutions (harder than you think...)

we decided we had spent enough money in the arcade and decided to go back to the room where we packed up all of our stuff and went to sleep...

Wed Feb 25, 2004 -

we had our final breakfast in the lounge...then we grabbed our bags and walked dejectedly back to our car for the long drive back to new orleans.....:(

but the trip was SO MUCH FUN!!! woo hoo!! cant wait until the next one!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I really enjoyed reading your trip reports. You have me very excited about riding the Hulk again! I know how you feel about walking sadly to the car when it's time to leave.

Thank you for the reports they where great to read sounds like u had a great vacation:jester:

silverspark's Mom checking in...better late than never...

Okay, these kids NEVER get tired of riding the Hulk...over and over and over again...I decided to stand on the bridge and try to take their pictures as they zoomed past...well, I got someone's picture, but it wasn't theirs.

Dr. Doom was alright, but not nearly as good as Tower of Terror. Did it once, that was enough.

DH's favorite thing was SpiderMan, so we definitely had to do that one more time.

By this time, the skies were definitely starting to cloud up...DH and I sat and waited for our big babies to do Flying Unicorn. We laughed as we watched all the little kids running off the ride and begging to get right back on again...and there were our big
moose children squealing as they went around the tracks. Whatyagonnado?

As we got on dueling dragons, it started to rain. As the ride started its incline, all of the filth from the top of the ride poured down onto me and my khaki colored shorts. Yummmmmmy...this was gonna be fun.

You already know about the rain and ponchos. Our lunch at Mythos was good and I wish we could've found the time to have dinner there. The atmosphere is wonderful and the service was just perfect - always there for your needs, but not hovering.

DH and I took off our shoes and ran back to HRH and changed into dry clothes. The kids finally came back and everyone rested.

When we went back to IOA later that evening, it began to rain...and rain...we just kept our ponchos on and continued on. I let them talk me into getting on the Popeye ride. Their point was that we were already wet....we had a blast doing Dueling Dragons (fire) in the rain. It was raining so hard, I literally couldn't open my eyes during the entire ride. Still, it was fun. DH and I opted not to go on Ice with the kids. We watched them for a while, the decided to head back to the hotel - soaked to the bone.

It was soooo nice when we walked into the HRH. There was an employee standing by with dry towels available for the guests. We quickly wrapped ourselves in towels and headed on up to our room...with a quick stop by the lounge for a glass of wine:crazy: We weren't back 15 minutes when the kids called to say they were coming back too.

Our dinner at The Kitchen was very good. By the way, DH had the steak and loved it.

Our last night was great, though bittersweet as all last days of a great vacation are.

We can't wait to return!!

i really enjoyed your trip reports-:)

i'm glad everyone had such a wonderful time- i reserved club level at RPR then tried to get club for HRH = but they are sold out for my dates:( after reading your trip reports it makes me want to go to the HRH even more!! but i'm sure i will have a great time at RPR

 lisa

Your reports are awesome! I am so glad you all had a good time and the pics are great too!

Thanks for sharing!

no11 - if you are able to - you should consider club level. i was so nice and convenient! i absolutely loved it! i sure hope you will be able to experience it

bratray - im sure you will have loads of fun at RPR. it looked like a beautiful hotel!! say hi to the hulk for me!:teeth:

You sound as though you're related to my DS (15). He and his friend rode the Hulk over and over and over. Can't beat FOTL!!:bounce: His cell phone is at the bottom of the lake beneath the Hulk. Just couldn't convince him after 5 rides that it would eventually fall out of his pocket!! I love Disney, but it seems that every teenager I've heard from (including my own) now gives US the nod for favorite. I'm glad you had such a great trip. You're making me want to go again.

oh my gosh!! he lost his cell phone!!

thats funny because, we would watch the people on the hulk and see if anyone dropped something...one day we counted 7 hats and 8 pairs of sunglasses in the net and on the concrete supports in the lake...

sorry he lost it!!
