Supposedly there will be a DVC band for sale for the 25th anniversary soon, that is also in the lights/sounds price category- I think I'll wait for that.
Not unless you make them through CRO. DVC on points would not be included.

The Awaken Summer band is complimentary
You can participate in any of the special offers that CRO offers if you meet the conditions. Those conditions mean paying cash for a room and a minimum ticket purchase.I know about the dvc band, but once again, we have to pay for that. The Awaken Summer band is complimentary, a word which doesn't seem to go with dvc. Why do dvc owners always seem to get penalized? No free dining offers, can't participate in special offers, no "specials" unless we pay extra. DVC people spend just as much $ on vacations as others - if not more! Kind of makes us rethink being DVC members.
DVC owners have already gotten a "promo" from Disney in the form of locking in discounted lodging for many years to come. It's just like the room discount promotions Disney runs-if you take that you can't have free dining too. If you take free dining you have to pay full price for the room and tickets. Honestly all Disney hotel/package promotions are meant to entice customers to book a vacation and fill rooms that are empty-DVC doesn't have to entice members as we have already paid for our rooms.I know about the dvc band, but once again, we have to pay for that. We are not prohibited from taking part of the other promotions Disney offers we just have to book the same package non DVC members book to receive it.
Well, not as I see it. DVC members get better accommodations at a lower price from Disney, in exchange for which Disney gets a steady stream of income from us. We also get a changing variety of discounts. I understand that you'd like to feel like members of a "most favored nation" (I'd like that, too) but I'm not sure we're "captive" or that we're entitled to anything more, or that we "get the shaft" because we don't get perks offered to folks paying higher rates. So DVC members get the shaft again...
I'm not sure we're "captive"
