My youngest son Christian(14) has a fever of 101. He's been a little "off" for a couple days, but he's been eating and playing okay. We went shopping today and he fell asleep on Dad's shoulder in teh food court. I thought that was kinda weird. He's never done that before, but it never occured to me that he might have a fever. Bless his heart, he's non-verbal so he can't tell us how he feels. He wouldn't eat supper tonight, a sure sign that he's sick. Poor baby. He's been sleeping off and on since about 5pm. He woke up just long enough to take all his seizure meds and now he's asleep on the couch, snoring like a freight train.
I'm not sure what he has, a virus of some kind, I'm sure. There are cases of flu in his school and everyone in his classroom except him & one teacher has been out sick part of the week. If he's still sick Monday I'll take him to the ped (unless things get worse before them.)
I hate when Christian gets sick. he can't communicate with us so it's like taking care of a newborn--you just have to kinda guess and try stuff to make him feel better. I'm a peds nurse, so I will keep a sharp eye on him. He's a pretty sturdy fellow so he ought to be okay as long as he's drinking and playing once in a while. I just feel so bad for him. He looks dull and miserable.
