Avoiding VMK Players

Hi All,

I have a question. There is a boy who needed my help and I put him on my friends list to help him out. He stalks me and comes to my ride room all of the time and wants me to go hang out with him in his "glove" room. Creepy! I politiey say no thank you.

So, I took him off of my friends list a few days after I was done helping him and he came into my room and had a little hissy fit. I told him it was no big deal and not to be upset...I added him back on. I politely told him that I do not want to hang out in his "glove" room and I do not participate in that stuff on VMK.

So now, this boy stalks me. Not sure why. I helped him find a few Hidden Mickey's and now it is like a creepy romance.

If I remove him from my friend list and then put him on my ignore list, can he still search for my room and find me? Does putting one on an ignore list stop them from being able to seek you out in your rooms or does it only put a stopper on seeing chat?

I do not want to report him unless he makes comments that I find offensive. I think he might just be a kid without many friends (I don't know that of course) and looking for some company...but I do not want to go to his "Glove" shack!!!

wow creepy. i think if you ignore him it will just not show the text, but he can still search for you. i think, im not sure though

I'm going to assume ignore is just like it is with other things for chat and games. It just blocks that peron's chat and the would still be able to get in your room if you are there. The only thing I can suggest is change the room settings.

I guess you are right. I was hoping to not to limit who can enter my ride room.

The "ignore" button may only work temporarily, just as the "boot" button keeps a player out of your room for a short period of time. I don't think the "ignore" button can be used as a permanent solution.

There's no reason to keep a player on your list who makes you feel uncomfortable. Take this seriously. Make it clear that you don't want to spend time with him and you don't want him following you. (You're under no obligation to explain why.) Then if he refuses to abide by your wishes, VMK will have a record of it.

If he continues to follow you around, that can be considered harassment, which is a violation of the VMK house rules and grounds for reporting.

I 100% agree with Alice. Some people are more tolerant of these people but I cut it right off if it heads down this road. There is no reason to continue with this person on your list if you are not comfortable with them and they clearly have different interests. His glove shack is against the values anyway. I would cut and run on this person and just keep booting and ignoring, don't let them bother you and if they don't go away report them and their "glove shack" (cold I know, sorry)

I would remove him and stick to it. Since its a ride room I would want to leave it open to everyone also. If he searches and finds you and has a fit, show him your size 12 super boot!

I took Mr. Boy off my list this morning. I am sure he will show up again.

I started thinking about it and decided to send a message to VMK and let them know of the situation. Several thoughts occurred to me:

1. What if he is not a kid and he is an adult with poor intentions? VMK staff members should be on the look-out.

2. I am an adult and more tolerant of him than I should be. I guess trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. The fact that he is following me around (virtually of course) may mean that he is following others around as well. This may mean that he is following children.

I would hate to think that he is making any player uncomfortable. He does not make me uncomfortable, I just think he is creepy....or perhaps pathetic. That may not be the case for others...and what if he is a creepy adult?

Good thinking. Sadly you just don't know who is on the other end of things so its better to be safe about it all. Hopefully VMK will look into things and maybe give a warning about acting that way. I know I would hate for you to have to close your ride room off to others because of one person. Especially when you do work hard on it and it is something others should see cause it is done very nicely. Hopefully he won't come bug you today or any other day.

i had a person like that on my friends list he woul not leave me alone

finaly i told hi that it was bothering me and to stop following me all the time, i told him i need space after that he did not follow so much

if he follows u and u tell him to stop and he does not just do a person is harrasing me they will stop trust me lol

In this case I would delete this player from my friends list. If the problem continues I would report! I have had a similar problem, but was just a kid wanting free stuff so I just ignored or booted...If your case is more serious definately report! It may be just a silly kid or something more sinister, better be safe (than sorry), so report!

You can:
Take him off your friend list (you did)
Click the Ignore button when he talks (you did)
Boot him (you did)
Make your room friends only for a while so he won't even come in.
