I love the winter weather, but can't take another solid week of the Christmas music and decorations. When is the latest in the latest in the year to book without having to deal with the holiday noise?

I think Halloween. We were in MK on Nov 4th last year and they were already playing christmas music. I think some decorations were up. I know POR had their tree up in the lobby.

I'm also guessing the week before Halloween. I believe the Christmas decorations go up as soon as Halloween (and the remaining Halloween parties) are over. We will be there from 11/5-11/13 and I know there are already Christmas parties scheduled for that week. Maybe January or early February would be your time to go since you like Florida winter weather and hate Christmas.

This will be the last full week of 'regular' Magic Kingdom. With the parties starting next Friday, fall decorations will be going up. From then until January the park will be decorated.

If it's just the music you care about, October is the latest. Once the Christmas parties start, it's Christmas for 2 months. For winter weather and regular MK, go in January or February

While we are VERY much looking forward to our visit in 16 days, I really prefer the park when it isn't decorated for something (the MK, that is). We just went in May for F&G and remembered how much I love the park in its natural state and without Christmas music or scarecrows LOL (though it's lovely in December, when we went last year). And Epcot looked fabulous with all the floral stuff out.

I agree. We really can only go in late fall for job reasons so we miss the regular "unseasonal" parks. Although I love Halloween and Christmas, I think it's a shame that Halloween starts in September and Christmas starts in November at WDW and DL. But I realize the parties are too lucrative not to hold as many and often as they can.

MVMCP starts in MK on November 7, so MK will be fully into Christmas mode by then. The other parks add their decorations later, mostly after Thanksgiving, I think, but maybe some else has a better handle on that. You could go in November and avoid MK and probably be pretty safe from Christmas decor and music.

We were there Oct 31-Nov 11 last year, and the last MNSSHP was November 1, and when we entered the park on November 2, it was Christmas. If you want to avoid the Christmas stuff, I think you need to go after New Years.

Is it music or decorations? While there is some decorations it's not like a department store. Hollywood generally is some hanging poinsettias. MK is mostly wreaths on the light poles and some fall style decorations spread around. Wilderness lodge that is in my opinion the most decorated is basically some garland and a big tree in the lobby... Overall I was a little surprised how under decorated disney was the first time I did a December trip. It's not in your face all the time...

As far as music, I can't remember hearing holiday music except while attending the MVMCP (xmas party at mk) and that is a ticketed event. Osbourne lights is gone so that music while that is happening won't be around and epcot maybe has some storytellers and vocal groups but you almost need to go out of your way to hear/see them.

So if your looking for no decorations, get there before halloween but it will be halloween themed around MK. Wilderness lodge, contemporary, grand floridian, boadwalk and yacht club usually have a display (gingerbread) that is built during the month of november but it's just a section of the lobby...

I would probably recommend just going in november and try to line it up with food and wine to offer something not part of the holiday as epcot is the last to switch over after food and wine ends..

I'm with you. My birthday is in early December and I really wish I could celebrate my birthday at Disney with the regular music. I love Christmas very much, but I'm one of those people who just prefers Disney when it is just straight Disney.

MK you will have to be there no later than Halloween. The first Very Merry Christmas Party is November 7 and they'll decorate before then.

The other parks, probably not full blown décor and music until mid-November. I would say if you are looking to totally avoid any holiday theming, be out of there by November 1. So you'll probably have to move to January or early February for winter weather and regular parks (avoid MLK weekend and marathon weekend maybe)

If it must be November, the first week is the best bet. MK will probably still be decorated though.
