My mom has two mechanical heart valves and is very sensitive to rumbling, body shaking loud noises (really high bass in music, bands, feeling fireworksetc). When we went to Disney last time she had to leave a few shows due to the vibration in the seat, etc.

Does anyone else have this problem and have any advice? I heard it's bad for pacemakers too.

If we wanted to watch Wishes in the MK, what would be the best place to watch them with the least amount of 'boom/vibration'? Is it even possible? Or should I just head over to the Poly and GF and watch from the beach with her? I just know she'll enjoy WATCHING the fireworks from MK but at the first loud boom, she'll go running into a store on Main St until it's over. :(

I honestly don't remember which rides my mom didn't enjoy last time. I took her on all 'tame' rides. Obviously no BTM, SM, etc. I think there was even a part of Universe of Energy that she didn't enjoy because the loud rumble really made the seat vibrate.

Can anyone suggest which other rides to avoid and any tips of enjoying the rest of the parks? We had a great time last time but I would like to go knowing a little more and making my moms trip even more enjoyable. Thanks!

I would head of to the GF and watch from the dock. You can see the fireworks perfectly from there and Narcoossee's pumps the music in so you don't miss out on anything. We make sure we catch the fireworks from the GF once every trip.

Do you have to be staying at the GF to view fireworks from there? My DS has Autism and does not like loud noises.:confused3

Nope, you dont have to be staying at the resort. Just head over and go to the beach. Same as at the Poly if that's where you want to watch them too.

Please be very careful of the Fantasmic Show in Epcot, especially the December Christmas holiday version. The grand finale really makes my heart rhythm change!

Thansk Twende! We're actually skipping Fantasmic for that reason. Plus the crowds at DHS on Fantasmic days are trying to be avoided!

If you are in MK the best places are Toontown if it is open or somewhere deep in Frontierland. Avoid Fantasyland like the plague as that is where they are set off (they are set off from the tops of Philharmagic and Snow White, as well as behind the Castle, and behind the trees in Fantasyland). I would do what a pp suggested and see them from one of the resorts. Be aware that in the past the castle stage shows have used fireworks in their finales, set off from the castle. They're not nearly as loud as the others, but if it's a problem you may want to avoid the castle area during the stage show.

At Epcot I can't think of any good place to watch Illuminations that you won't be feeling the percussive effects of the fireworks. The lagoon isn't easily visible unless you are right there.

I'm trying to think of any rides that might be problematic. Obviously any thrill rides are out. I would avoid Philharmagic as the bass at times can be pretty intense. I would also be careful of the live shows. Festival of the Lion King has some intense drums in it. If you want to try, request to be seated near an exit so she can make a getaway if need be. Nemo I don't recall there being any intense bass or vibrations. I would think Beauty and the Beast would be okay. I would not do Lights Motors Action and if you are doing Indiana Jones maybe sit further back. I would also consider skipping Tough to Be a Bug. I doubt you would have any issues with Muppets 3-D. IF you ride Kilimanjaro safari, it can be rough at times, not sure how she would feel about that.

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry! I gave you the wrong information!

I meant the Illuminations show in EPCOT! Not Fantasmic!

From the rear seating in the stadium of Fantasmic, that show is pretty doable. Get there early and just sit and relax. Let the crowds leave the stadium and then exit at your leisure.

It is the Christmas version of Illuminations in EPCOT that gets to really booming! It is incredible to watch but it really rocks ones heart!

I am sorry to have given you the wrong info! I was posting on very little sleep and my mind was a bit fogged!:scared1:

THANK YOU! This is all great advice! I'll definitely keep us by a chicken out exit if we need to. :) thank you again!

Aw, that's ok! Now we'll definitely avoid Illuminations as well. I just think we're going to skip Fantasmic though either way due to them only showing it once or twice a week when we're down there and realllly want to avoid a crowded DHS!
