Off I95 at exit 130 A. We like Hampton Inns, but this one was experiencing some challenges on 11/23 (we were hoping to mkae it all the way home to NJ in one shot, but got too tired so we stopped at first HI we saw). The carpet in front of the sink was damp, and we reported it to front desk. We were too tired to change rooms, just wanted to be on the record that "it was like that when we got here."
We put down some towels, but it just got worse and worse. Water must have been leaking under the sink.
While the key card worked fine when we first got to the room, the door never worked again, so one of us had to be there at all times. Lock was stuck, or something.
Breakfast offerings were not as varied or plentiful as they have been at other HIs.
Most compelling reason not to stop here: right next to the rescue squad and they began testing their equipment at 4 AM!
If we had gone one more exit, we could have stayed at a much newer HI with interior corridors (which I much prefer).
I'm not flaming HI--stuff happens and they were very nice there. Just be warned about the noisy neighborhood.
Live and learn!
