Avoid EMH Day at Animal Kingdom?

I usually avoid EMH parks like the plague - I think they're usually more crowded than the other parks, because people without park hoppers go there to maximize their time.

But my first day (Friday, October 2nd), I want to go to AK, and they have an evening EMH. How much more crowded than usual do you think it might be during the day?? I could go at opening, then leave in the afternoon. Do you think it will be more crowded than a non-EMH park during the day?

I have found EMH for AK being slower IMHO. I did not mind it at all! This was in October of last year!

We did afternoon EMH at AK in January. The park was empty in the morning but really started filling up about 2pm. It was annoying enough for us that we decided to leave and go back to the resort. We re-entered AK about 30 minutes into EMH and it wasn't that bad.

I would. we were there on the EMH day (night) the first week in September. Day before at DHS was empty. Then AK on that Wednesday, it was soooooo crowded. I couldn't believe it. Kali had over a 50 minute wait, and no more FPs. We left around 2/3 and even the bus back was packed.

the funny thing was, the next day we were on the same bus for BB and each time we were pretty much the only people on it. I think it was because of EMH.

I think you would be fine doing that, we find AK EMH a huge waste of time but its not as crowded as the others either. If you hit the park early and leave before normal closing/maybe right at parade time I think you won't encounter the huge crowds. I would suggest doing the 2 things (EE and Dino) that are open duing EMH a little earlier as that is where the crowds will be at once the park nears closing.

We just got back and did an evening EMH at AK. It was great, there was an extra Lion King show, lines were short. We got so much done. I think it's one of the few EMH's where you can have an experience like that in my opinion.
