Avoid Disney Chase Card if an Annual Passholder

We spent 30 days at WDW in the last 18 months. We've been told that because we purchased an annual pass last summer, that all our charges to our Disney Chase Visa card are now no longer eligible for 6 months of zero percent interest because you need to buy tickets with your room.

So, as there is no reason for a passholder to do that, avoid the Chase Disney Card as clearly a frequent visitor isn't worthy of that benefit.

Yes, the 0% for 6 months is just for Disney packages, not room-only reservations. So, yes, an AP holder that would just a room wouldn't benefit from the 0% offer.

Are you getting an AP rate on your room-only reservations? That's a benefit that other people don't get. Not to mention the various discounts you get in the park.

I believe that AP room rates are a much better deal tan room and ticket packages. I have stayed at All Stars for 49 per night AP rate. You need to look at how many times you plan on visiting the parks ands what the break even is on AP vs Multi day hoppers. Then make your decision. Now all that being said, there is no guarantee that room rates will always be offered for AP holders, since APs are for park entry first. THe addtional benefits are very nice, but not guaranteed.

Sometimes when AP room rates are not available, but package discounts are it makes sense to purchase a package with one day admission (saving the park admission to offset the cost of the next AP), then you can use the Visa 0%. Just like any other 0% offers, the DIsney Visa is set up that way so you spend more money in one place than in another--no interest but the profits come from somewhere, the ordinary package.
I wish the Disney Visa would give double points for "Disney" purchases, most loyalty cards give more in that area.
